The Role

We are seeking a Director of Field Operations responsible for driving operational excellence, quality, performance improvement and standardization across a remote, geographically dispersed field service organization.


They will lead the teams with a focus on continuous process improvement, problem solving and change management to ensure a collaborative approach and efficient service operations. This leader will seamlessly balance these responsibilities as well as adeptly move when necessary, from strategic thinking to practical application while "rolling up the sleeves" to get things done. Our Director will collaborate with the field leadership team and business leaders to create strategic priorities focused on the delivery of critical operating priorities while maintaining our positive culture and values. This position will lead a team of three people leaders, located in Canada and the US. 

 

*Travel is expected to visit key clients and field markets when appropriate.  


Who you are
  • Bachelor's degree in business management, operations or equivalent
  • Minimum 10-15 years of related professional experience managing geographically dispersed teams and remote employees with increasing responsibility 
  • Ability to travel up to 75% as needed, routine travel expected to be 25%-30% 
  • Demonstrated ability to drive significant, positive impact across a large-scale operating company 
  • Track record of leading high-performance teams and developing talent 
  • Experience with a growth organization focused on culture and engagement

  • Support cross-functional business initiatives that improve organizational effectiveness, drive speed and efficiency as well as process improvement across the organization 
  • Consistently represent the "Voice of the Field" during cross-functional corporate activities by leveraging insights and strong partnerships developed with Field Managers 
  • Ability to lead others to implement strategies and processes that will accomplish business results 
  • Be an agent of change by demonstrating enthusiasm and commitment to change 
  • Drive consistency around best practices and daily operation across the country 
  • Collaborate with senior management teams to develop action plans that will optimize efforts, create long-term growth and achieve the corporate strategy 
  • Liaison between the field organization and the corporate office 
  • Continuously manage the operations process and look for procedure improvements 
  • Drive a vision for the evolution of operations, designing and implementing strategic objectives 
  • Anticipate future needs so the business achieves the highest level of operational compliance, consistency, and accountability 
  • Set the tone for compliance with policies and procedures for field organization 
  • Represent a catalyst for change in the field by managing and executing new initiatives regularly in a positive, constructive manner to ensure rapid acceptance of new ways of doing business 
  • Work strategically with IT to deliver innovative tools that enhance capabilities 
  • Develop and implement reporting and training tools to maximize effectiveness 
  • Lead the development and execution of operational plans to launch multiple pilots and to scale installed systems 
  • Performs other duties/special projects as assigned
