Type Designer

Remote (or Belgrade) – Part-Time (20 hours/week)

Clay is a global design agency building world-class digital products and brands. Our clients include Meta, Slack, Google, Snapchat, Amazon, Coinbase, and many innovative startups.

We’re looking for a Type Designer to join our team at Clay on a part-time basis. This is a flexible opportunity to work alongside a world-class design team on both internal and client-facing projects.

What you’ll do:

  • Design and develop typefaces for both internal and commercial use
  • Collaborate with the Brand Design team on custom lettering and wordmarks
  • Work on custom fonts for clients
  • Contribute to the creation and release of original Clay typefaces
  • A strong foundation in type design and a deep understanding of typographic principles;
  • A refined graphic sensibility and ability to work across a variety of styles;
  • Ability to work independently while also collaborating with cross-functional teams, including close interaction with the brand team to ensure consistency and alignment with brand guidelines;
  • Strong written English skills, fluency in spoken English is preferred;

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with brand identity systems or working within a design studio environment.
