Creative Marketing Intern - Summer 2025

Join the company behind The Super Mario Bros. Movie, Despicable Me, The Secret Life of Pets, and Sing. As an intern at Illumination, you will take part in cross company learning, partner with innovative leaders and teams, and have a seat at the table in our latest endeavors. 

 

Illumination is seeking a Creative Marketing Intern for Summer 2025 to work closely with our Creative team. If you are someone that is digital savvy, loves big ideas, has a pulse on emerging technologies, and wants to understand the business behind the brand then this is the internship for you!

 


Responsibilities:
  • Contribute to team brainstorms
  • Help develop big ideas in response to briefs
  • Identify creative ways to connect with audiences
  • Create presentations to express concepts
  • Write copy for scripts, social media and marketing touchpoints 
  • Research pop culture trends and insights


Qualifications:
  • Available to work 40 hours per week for 8 weeks
  • Students returning to College or University in the fall are eligible to apply
  • Preferred major(s): Digital Arts/ Media, Communications, or Digital Marketing, Advertising
  • Fluent across all social media platforms, with an in-depth understanding of TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube
  • Fluent in Google Docs programs
  • Evidence of creative and campaign ideation
  • POV and understanding of culture marketing, social, and content marketing
  • Passion for storytelling, digital experiences, and new technologies
  • Critical thinker with excellent writing and communication skills
  • Detail-oriented with a strong work ethic and the ability to multi-task
  • Ability to take creative direction and incorporate feedback into revised work
  • Must be authorized to work int he United States without visa sponsorship by the company.


Requirements
  • Must have the ability to work in the Santa Monica studio 4 days a week (Mon-Thurs) without relocation assistance from the company and 1 day WFH (Fri).


The salary for this position is $17.28/hour.
