Sr. CNC Machinist/Operator

You will work on:
  • Set-up, and operate CNC machines including 3 and 5 axis mills.
  • Set-up, and operate LFAM 3D Printer.
  • Inspect parts printed and machined molds and tooling as well as finished composite parts.
  • Provide DFM feedback to engineers to improve our processes, and opportunities for cost down efforts.

  • Identify and solve problems quickly, and to communicate issues clearly to prevent recurring issues.
  • Have a high sense of urgency, with a strong attention to detail and a resolve to deliver the highest quality.
  • Have 5+ years experience as a machinist / machine operator doing part set ups, setting up and measuring tooling, and operating CNC machines.
  • Have 3+ years experience operating 5-axis gantry mills.
  • Have a clear understanding of G and M code. 
  • Have experience doing post and in-process inspection using common measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, scales, etc.
  • Be comfortable learning new methods and technologies, and incorporating them into your workflow.
  • Be able to lift 50# unassisted.


Preferred:
  • Have experience in tooling / mold making in aerospace and/or motorsport.
  • Have experience machining parts that do not start as a billet, e.g. 3D prints, castings, foam block ups, or likewise non- rectangular starting stock.
  • Have experience with Siemens controls.
  • Have experience in a mix of R&D / development as well as production environments.
  • Have experience programming and running 3D printers of any size.
  • Have experience with CAD software like Siemens NX, Solidworks, or Catia.
  • Have the flexibility to work extended hours/weekends when required to meet customer timelines.


$30 - $40 an hour

Actual base salary will be based on several factors including but not limited to candidates relevant education, experience, knowledge and skill in the core subject matter of the position as well as relevant peripheral qualifications.
