Senior Manager - Product Design

We’re looking for a Senior Manager, Product Design to lead and grow our talented design team at Leonardo. This is a people leadership role, where your focus will be on empowering designers to do their best work, shaping a strong design culture, and working closely with other leaders to influence product strategy.

You’ll collaborate across the company to set the vision for how design shapes our product, ensuring that we create thoughtful, intuitive, and delightful experiences for our B2C and B2B users to create content using generative AI.

Responsibilities

  • Support, coach, and mentor a team of product designers across UX/UI and user research, helping them develop their skills and grow their careers.

  • Build a culture of trust, feedback, and continuous learning, where everyone feels empowered to contribute their best work that leads to a high performing team.

  • Work in collaboration with the Strategic Product & Design Manager on the design vision and strategy, ensuring that design plays a central role in how we build and improve our products.

  • Champion user needs and make sure we’re always designing with impact, clarity, and inclusivity in mind.

  • Contribute to the development of the design team growth, ensuring that cross-functional team chapters are aligned with business goals and foster a collaborative, high-performing environment.

  • Maintain and evolve our design systems and processes, making it easier for teams to work efficiently and consistently.

  • Foster strong relationships with Product, Engineering, Research, and Marketing to ensure design is deeply embedded in decision-making.

  • Influence product and business strategy by bringing insights from design, research, and user experience to the table.

  • Advocate for a strong, design-led culture, where creativity and user needs drive innovation.

Requirements

  • Significant experience in product design, with prior experience in a leadership role (managing and scaling design teams).

  • Strong knowledge and experience in working with and developing design systems for Product Design

  • Demonstrated success in designing and launching web and mobile applications, ideally within AI/ML or other technology-driven industries.

  • Strong background in user-centered design, UI/UX best practices, and design systems.

  • Proficiency with modern design tools (e.g. Figma).

  • Understanding of front-end technologies and how design decisions impact development.

  • Exceptional people management skills, with a track record of building, mentoring, and retaining design teams.

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.

  • Proven ability to align diverse teams around a shared vision and drive effective cross-functional collaboration.

  • Comfortable working in a fast moving startup environment and adapting plans based on highest priorities.
