We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Lead Database Administrator (DBA) to manage and optimize our database systems. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of database technologies, excellent problem-solving skills, and a proactive approach to ensuring the availability, performance, and security of critical data infrastructure. What You Will Do💡

  1. Database Management:
    • Design, install, configure, and maintain database systems (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, Mongo DB, Cassandra, Aerospike etc.).
    • Ensure high availability, disaster recovery, and backup solutions.
  2. Performance Optimization:
    • Monitor database performance and conduct tuning for optimal efficiency.
    • Analyze query execution plans and optimize queries for speed and resource utilization.
  3. Security and Compliance:
    • Implement and maintain data security policies to protect sensitive information.
    • Ensure compliance with applicable regulations such as GDPR, HIPAA, or other industry standards.
  4. Data Integrity and Backup:
    • Develop and maintain robust backup and recovery strategies.
    • Perform regular testing of backups and recovery plans.
  5. Collaboration:
    • Work closely with developers, system administrators, and data analysts to support database-related needs.
    • Provide guidance on database design, normalization, and data modeling.
  6. Automation and Scripting:
    • Develop scripts and tools for database monitoring, management, and automation.
    • Implement solutions for repetitive tasks to improve efficiency.
  7. Troubleshooting:
    • Identify and resolve database issues, ensuring minimal downtime and impact.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Minimum of 7+  years of experience as a Database Administrator.
  • Proficiency in database management systems such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, Mongo DB, Cassandra, Aerospike, Redis etc.
  • Strong understanding of database design principles, indexing, partitioning, and replication.
  • Experience with database monitoring tools.
  • Proficient in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Shell, SQL scripting).
