Position Summary 

In this role, you will support PG&E’s Marketing and Communications team by assisting with community engagement and customer outreach strategies, especially for in-person events. As an intern, you will collaborate with various Community Based Organizations to help implement coordinated outreach and marketing campaigns. This position focuses on building and expanding relationships with external partners and improving internal coordination to enhance community engagement and participation in various customer support programs. 

You will work closely with Program Managers, Marketing and Communications, Customer Insights, and Customer Service to plan, prepare and implement community engagement events and related promotions. 

 

PG&E is providing the hourly rate range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job.  The actual hourly rate paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. 

  

The hourly rate for this position ranges from $19.91 to $26.02 

 

 

Primary Responsibilities: 

  • Assist the Marketing and Communications team with managing and executing community outreach and partner marketing with community-based organizations (CBOs). 

  • Help coordinate and staff community engagement events. 

  • Support the implementation of outreach plans, track key performance indicators and metrics, manage analytics and data deliverables, and assist with budget tracking and forecasting. 

  • Aid in communicating activities and deliverables to internal and external stakeholders, and make recommendations for improvement when necessary. 

  • Assist with project management, scheduling, and coordination of timelines and deliverables such as direct-to-customer marketing pieces, event promotion, print collateral, and social media posts. 

  • Gather and document results and report on event performance. 
     

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Qualified students are pursuing a degree in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, Public Relations, Hospitality, Event Management, or a related area of study. 

  • Students must be continuing their education towards their degree during and/or after the internship

  • Demonstrated project management skills  

  • Experience in consumer marketing  

  • Advanced communication skills with ability to write original content for marketing and communication materials, and business presentations   

  • Proven ability to foster trust and collaborative partnerships with colleagues and internal stakeholders 

  • Advanced analytical and organizational skills with excellent attention to detail 

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-driven environment  

  • Strong communication and organizational skills. 

  • Customer-focus and ability to work in a fast-paced, team-driven environment. 

  • Basic understanding of marketing principles and event management. 

  • Reliable transportation and ability to travel up to 100 miles for events. 

  • Comfortable working in a hybrid working environment – partially in-person and partially remote and online.
