Position Purpose:
The Tribal Communications Manager will oversee and implement comprehensive communication strategies for the tribe, ensuring clear, consistent, and culturally respectful messaging internally and externally. This role will be responsible for promoting the tribe’s initiatives, preserving cultural heritage, and facilitating effective communication with tribal members, governmental agencies, and the broader community.

Position involves prolonged sitting, standing, stooping, or bending, lifting, or carrying 30 pounds on a daily basis. Work is generally performed in an office environment with varying levels of lighting, air quality, noise, and / or temperature.

You'll work closely with tribal leadership and other departments, ensuring clear communication flows seamlessly within the organization. Your creativity will shine as you create engaging content like newsletters, social media posts, and brochures that tell our unique story. You'll be the point of connection with local media and external agencies, managing relationships that further elevate our initiatives. Plus, you'll play a key role in community engagement, making sure that we not only preserve our rich cultural heritage but also foster unity within our community. Your experience in crisis communication will come in handy too as you provide strategic guidance during challenging times. With a Bachelor's degree in Communications or a related field and at least five years of relevant experience, you're ready to lead our communication efforts and make an impact.
