The Vice President, Non-QM will be overseeing the development, marketing, and management of non-qualified mortgage (Non-QM) loan products. This role will focus on identifying and targeting borrowers who may not qualify for traditional mortgage programs due to limited credit history or income verification, while adhering to regulatory guidelines for Non-QM lending; key responsibilities would include market research, product strategy development with SVP, Secondary Marketing, pricing analysis, collaboration with underwriting and sales teams, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations This role is full-time, exempt and reports to EVP, Capital Markets. 


Responsibilites and Duties
  • Conduct in-depth market research to identify potential Non-QM borrower segments and their needs. 
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive product strategy for Non-QM loan offerings, including pricing, features, and target market positioning. 
  • Monitor industry trends and regulatory changes impacting the Non-QM market
  • Collaborate with SVP, Secondary Marketing/Product Development to design new Non-QM loan products that meet market demands and regulatory requirements. 
  • Collaborate with SVP, Secondary Marketing/Product Development to identify and implement product specifications, eligibility criteria, and underwriting guidelines for Non-QM loans. 
  • Develop product launch plans, including marketing materials and sales training programs. 
  • Develop and document a guideline exception process based on compensating factors.
  • Create and nurture and environment that provides clear and consistent feedback and answers from underwriters and investors to Account Executives, brokers, and clients.
  • Effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams including sales, underwriting, operations, marketing, and compliance.


Required Skills
  • Deep understanding of the mortgage lending landscape, including loan origination, underwriting, and regulatory requirements, with a specific focus on Non-QM and DSCR loan programs.
  • Strong ability to analyze market data, financial statements, and loan performance metrics to inform product strategy and pricing decisions
  • Proven track record of leading a specialty product-related team, preferably within the Non-QM space.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Analyze loan performance data to set competitive pricing strategies for Non-QM products. 
  • Work directly with SVP, Product Development and credit to manage credit risk associated with Non-QM loans by implementing appropriate underwriting guidelines commensurate with Plaza’s risk profile while meeting the demands of the competitive marketplace.
  • Work closely with sales teams to educate them on Non-QM product features, benefits, and eligibility requirements. 
  • Develop sales materials and training programs to support the successful distribution of Non-QM loans. 


Education/Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, or a related field
  • 5+ years as a product manager, preferably in the mortgage industry
  • computer systems including MS Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook) 


$125,000 - $200,000 a year
