About the Role
The Team: You will be are part of the Accounting team, reporting directly to the SVP, Chief Accounting Officer, working with colleagues leading Enterprise/Regional Controllership, Technical Accounting & Global Real Estate Services.
What's in it for you:

• Interact with key executives and get to know every business division within S&P. You will have a strong partnership with each of the CFO's and understand their unique business offering.
• Lead an established CoE operating model, control network & key initiatives across finance technology, lease accounting, record to report, incentive compensation accounting / commissions, and cash, G/L, Fixed Asset.
Impact and Responsibilities:
You will protect the Company's best interests by challenging business assumptions and decisions and by implementing global initiatives & policies.
• Ensure an accurate and independent view of the financial situation of the BU (financial results, account closing balances, forecasts, and cash flow generation over reporting periods)
• Develop and implement a vision and strategy for centralized accounting workflows that leverage a data-driven, highly automated accounting processes.
• Implement cutting edge automation techniques that accelerate the accounting close and provide detailed analysis of actuals to business unit finance partners that improves the insight into financial performance.
• Lead a revenue accounting team that handles month-end accruals for all divisions at S&P Global
• Oversee month-end, quarter-end, and year-end accounting procedures across the divisions.
• Lead Global Commission Accounting and the implementation of ASC 606, including partnership with the divisions around governance.
• Ensure consistent and accurate implementation of a strong internal control environment by partnering with various stakeholders across the global Controllership and internal audit teams.
• Advise on Business Unit performance maximization by monitoring costs, looking for costs reduction and cash generation opportunities including identification of process improvement across divisions to drive efficiency and effectiveness through accounting teams.
• Propose to operational management and BU Executives action plans and challenge them on their business decisions.
• Identify and assess risks & opportunities; mitigate risks, manage crisis and exceptional initiatives at BU level.
• Promote a finance culture that is conscious of return on investment, cost of capital and cash-flow generation.
• Lead accounting processes related to business divisions & ensure compliance with local and group accounting principles, including definition of Record-to-Record COE with scope of services, SLAs, and transition requirements / timeline.
• Work with the Finance Technology Team (in Digital Services) to maximize efficiencies.
• Partner with Business Services to ensure CPP prioritization as it relates to technology.
• Partner with Global Real Estate Services as it relates leasing/re accounting and the proper implementation of ASC 842
• Encourage culture of continuous improvement to upskill / reskill accounting professionals in line with technologic advancements.
Compensation/Benefits Information: (This section is only applicable to US candidates)
S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $173,700 to $313,950. Final base salary for this role will be based on the individual's geographic location, as well as experience level, skill set, training, licenses and certifications.
In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan.

Basic Required Qualifications
• 12+ years experience in accounting or finance
• CPA/Chartered Accountant designation
• Experience and technical background with accounting ERP's and other related technologies and procurement technologies
• Significant experience with complex entities across the globe for multiple business lines
• S trong knowledge and proficiency in Alteryx
• Ability to:
• Flex beyond BAU projects and lead key strategic projects not exclusively within the accounting space
• projects management and manage/maintain adoption and engagement around a governance process
• Articulate the story behind the numbers / walk executives through a comprehensive review to influence change leading to efficiencies.
• Champion adoption
Additional Preferred Qualifications:
• Masters degree
