Job Overview

As a User Experience (UX) Designer for our marketing site properties, you will be putting your skills for crafting great experiences to use every day. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will help bridge departments to create online experiences that showcase TechSmith’s robust product offerings.
 
Your responsibilities will include working with the marketing team, growth program managers, business stakeholders and software engineers to advocate for users and define best practice UX patterns and workflows to maximize conversion through our site and ecommerce experiences. You’ll use the Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, and other tools to prototype, validate, and refine your designs with users and stakeholders, and then collaborate with development teams to implement.

Responsibilities

Strategic Design & Conversion: Leads the design and optimization of digital experiences across a global marketing site structure and e-commerce conversion funnels. Focuses on user-centered design, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, including digital marketing and development, to create seamless and intuitive experiences that drive user engagement and increase conversion rates. Seek alignment of business goals and user needs.
Develop and iterate on wireframes, prototypes and user flows in a collaborative, agile environment.

Visual Brand Steward: applies the visual identity across user experiences to bring the brand vision to life. Supports the evolution of the visual and interactive expression of the brand in digital experiences. Works with the Content Strategist to align user experience with storytelling and brand voice.
  • Ensures brand consistency in UX design, layout, and user flow across all platforms.
  • Translates messaging into compelling, user-friendly digital experiences.
  • Supports the ongoing in-house design and brand standards supporting the onboarding of 3rd parties to those brand standards as needed
Data Analysis and Experimentation: Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), analyze customer behavior, and use data-driven insights to refine strategies and improve conversion performance. Conduct user research and usability testing to inform design decisions and improve user experience.

Marketing Integration: Collaborate with the marketing team to develop and execute digital campaigns, including SEO, SEM, email marketing, and social media to drive traffic and sales.

Customer Experience: Advocate for the user. Encourage conversations around personas, user tasks, and goals throughout the design and development process.  Ensure a seamless and satisfying customer journey from awareness  to purchase and post-purchase support through the lens of UX. Collaborate with digital marketing, product, and development teams to optimize conversion-focused landing pages and site structure.

Accessibility: Be a champion of accessibility across user experiences, especially across owned properties.
 
Mentor: provide mentorship on UX to others, ensure design consistency, and oversee the testing and iteration of designs to enhance the overall customer journey.
 
Design Trends & Best Practices:  Stay informed of current design trends and bring new techniques and methods to the marketing team.

Required Skills and Background

  • Bachelors degree or higher in UX, HCI, Design, AND 2 plus years of commercial experience as a UX Designer OR
  • 4 plus years of commercial experience as a UX designer.
  • Strong understanding of Visual Design and Human-Computer Interaction fundamentals
  • Portfolio demonstrating experience designing user interfaces, or web experiences
  • Self-motivated and able to collaborate with a diverse set of people from many disciplines
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for communication inside and outside the company
  • Experience in, or desire to, design marketing web and ecommerce experiences
  • Strong critical thinking skills
  • You must be legally authorized to work in the United States without an employer-sponsored petition for a visa, such as an H-1B visa. TechSmith does not intend to file any visa applications in connection with this opening.

Preferred Skills and Background

  • 5+ years of commercial experience as a UX designer
  • Desire to work on website and ecommerce UX
  • Experience working with design systems
  • Understanding of accessibility best practices and universal design concepts
  • Experience using Adobe Creative Cloud, Figma, InVision/Marvel, Sketch, or other design and prototyping tools
  • Understanding of agile methodologies
  • Working knowledge of Google Analytics and other behavioral analytics tools
  • Knowledge of HTML a plus
