Job Summary
The University of British Columbia Centre for Disease Control, the academic arm of the British Columbia Centre for Disease Control (BCCDC), is seeking an enthusiastic and highly qualified applicant for the full-time position of Project Manager working in sexually transmitted infection (STI) research. The BCCDC human immunodeficiency virus and sexually transmitted infections (HIV/STI) Program is housed within Clinical Prevention Services (CPS). This program is made up of clinical and public health experts whose goal is to optimize the prevention, diagnosis and treatment HIV/STI in BC. Under the supervision of the Physician Lead of BCCDC’s HIV/STI Program, the successful applicant will support a research program that focuses on the prevention, screening and management of HIV infection, human papillomavirus (HPV), syphilis, and other STIs. Organizational Status
Scientifically, the Project Manager will report directly to the Physician Lead of the Provincial HIV/STI Program, and operationally, to the Research Manager of the BCCDC Clinical Prevention Services. The Project Manager will work collaboratively with clinical staff and other research team members, including research assistants, graduate students, clinical residents, and post-doctoral fellows.

The quality and productivity of the research program, and the research team's national and international partnerships and communications will be affected. Confidentiality of highly personal health information collected from various health care sites in Canada must be protected at all costs.
Supervision Received
The Project Manager, under the direction of the Research Manager and Principal Investigator, works under general direction within established policies, procedures and standards. Work will be reviewed against task objectives and conformity to standards.
Supervision Given
The Project Manager may assign and check work of research assistants or students, and will work closely with clinic staff at participating sites of the clinical research.
Minimum Qualifications
Undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline. Minimum of three years of related experience, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
