Job Summary
As a Load Planner, you will be an integral member of UFPT working in a dynamic operational environment, to consistently exceed established goals, demonstrate a commitment to customers and a dedication to excellence and innovation.
In this role, you will be responsible for the tactical execution of tendering and scheduling loads, ensuring on-time deliveries, effectively negotiating rates and managing exceptions to meet internal and external customer expectations. This position requires a self-managed individual who is a proficient communicator, solutions-driven and possesses a strong attention to detail to deliver a quality service experience.
The person in this role will report to the Hub Manager and will work with them and other team members within the organization to oversee the execution of market strategy that complements the overall strategic operating and growth plans.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Allocate, tender, and assign inbound and outbound transportation needs
Ensure all business and customer requirements for load movements are met, optimizing equipment, and managing tight timelines
Utilize system tools to understand market rates and trends to effectively negotiate rates
Develop and foster positive relationships with a qualified network of carriers through verbal and written communication
Access all required system applications and tools to perform job duties accurately and timely
Participates and attends all departmental meetings to provide updates, share knowledge, and discuss problem-resolution scenarios
Identify, lead, or participate in project work as required
Qualifications
College degree in supply chain, business, financial, or other applicable focus area preferred or
2-4 years of transportation experience preferred
Desired skills & experience:
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Ability to give and receive feedback
Working knowledge of TMS and understanding of system capabilities
Takes initiative (self-starter)
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in both oral and written format to all levels of leadership
Conflict resolution skills
Preferred experience and knowledge of UFP’s organization, culture, and product lines
