At Veolia Nuclear Solutions Federal Services, located in Richland, Washington, we are working to support and provide innovative, sustainable, and elegant solutions to some of the most complex challenges facing our government and commercial clients. Veolia Nuclear Solutions Federal Services is looking for Civil/Structural Engineers.  In this position professionals will develop detailed designs and analysis of civil and structural components for industrial and nuclear applications.  Successful candidates will be self-motivated, organized, and detail-oriented individuals who possess the ability to work well independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment using excellent communication and time management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Participating in multidiscipline design teams to develop detailed designs. 
  • Working under the direction of a Principal Engineer:
    • Prepare design drawings, design calculations, fabrication and construction specifications to meet design criteria and objectives
    • Review and evaluate customer provided design criteria, interpret and apply design codes and standards to ensure design products conform to consensus standards.
    • Development and/or review of design documents and drawings that will be issued for construction.

Qualifications

 Required Education/Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
  • 5 years of experience in engineering design
  • Working knowledge of finite element analyses codes (i.e., ANSY, SAP2000, etc.)
  • Working knowledge of national codes and standards such as IBC, ASCE-7, ACI, and AISC

 Desired Qualifications   

  • Familiarity with MathCAD and AutoCAD/Civil 3 D/Solidworks preferred 
  • PE Licensed
  • Experience with Federal Projects within the Department of Defense, Department of Energy or Hanford Specific Experience

  • Execute technical tasks assigned
  • Interacts with senior engineers and project managers to:
    • Deliver scope on time, on budget and in accordance with expectations, including delivery in a safe and secure manner
  • Compliance with policies and procedures
