Lead Product Designer

This role is for one of the Weekday's clients

Salary range: Rs 4000000 - Rs 8000000 (ie INR 40-80 LPA)

Min Experience: 6 years

Location: Bangalore

JobType: full-time

We’re looking for a Lead Product Designer to drive the design vision and strategy for an AI-powered code review platform. In this role, you’ll craft seamless user experiences across multiple developer environments, including IDEs, Git platforms, and web interfaces. You’ll lead the end-to-end design process, mentor designers, and build scalable design systems that elevate the developer experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own the full design lifecycle—from user research and concept development to implementation and iteration.
  • Build and maintain a cohesive design system spanning web applications, IDE extensions, and integrations with Git platforms.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering and product teams to create intuitive developer-first interfaces.
  • Guide and mentor junior designers, establishing strong design practices and team processes.
  • Architect experiences that translate complex technical data and AI insights into clear, usable interfaces.
  • Conduct user research to understand developer workflows, challenges, and expectations.
  • Design clear visualizations for metrics related to code quality and AI-generated feedback.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • 5–8 years of experience in product design, ideally with technical or developer-focused tools.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing impactful work on complex, technical products.
  • Deep understanding of developer tools, workflows, and user behaviors.
  • Demonstrated experience in building and scaling design systems.
  • Proficient in Figma and other modern design tools.
  • Strong grasp of information architecture and visualizing technical data.
  • Excellent communication and storytelling skills to advocate for design decisions.

Preferred:

  • Experience working in developer-centric companies (e.g., GitHub, Postman, Hasura).
  • Familiarity with software development concepts and Git workflows.
  • Experience designing IDE plugins, browser extensions, or developer tools.
  • Background in designing for AI/ML-powered products.
  • Contributions to open-source design systems.
  • Knowledge of motion design and micro-interaction design.
