We are looking for an Energy & Water Program Manager, tasked with developing, implementing, and results tracking of strategies that reduce carbon emissions and improve the sustainability of our facilities and emerging business operations.
This candidate will work with stakeholders across multiple business units to identify, develop, and execute energy and sustainability projects, initiatives, and integrate energy management concepts into existing and new facilities.
The candidate will use industry best practice methodologies to report on performance metrics and achieved savings.
Key job responsibilities
This role will have specific focus on:
o Developing relationships and scaling energy initiatives to the fulfillment network in Latin America.
o Developing and maintaining a data pipeline for energy health score, with actionable insights for site teams to follow.
o Working with internal partners to deliver NetZero pilots and industry certifications.
General Responsibilities:
o Manage projects against plans and objectives to ensure commitments are met, delivering against our Climate Pledge goals
o Drive continuous energy efficiency improvement with Amazon's energy consuming assets.
o Deep diving (troubleshooting) and unblocking issues that are prohibiting teams from pursuing energy reduction initiatives
o Prepare written analysis of feasibility studies and recommendations for various energy and water reduction opportunities
o Work with critical stakeholders on developing mechanisms for launching facilities that incorporate energy optimization and sustainability procedures from Day 1
o Drive/support mechanical system design change requests that reduce energy consumption.
o Analyze and communicate the financial impact of projects and initiatives (payback, return on investment- ROI, net present value- NPV, marginal abatement cost of carbon - MACC, etc.
o Manage multiple, complex projects simultaneously
o Calculate and report energy, water and carbon savings using International Performance Measurement and Verification Protocol -IPMVP methodologies.
o Travel domestically or internationally up to 15%

- 6+ years of technical infrastructure management experience.
- Knowledge of energy management best practices.
- Bachelor’s degree in, Engineering, Environmental Sciences, Energy Management or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
- Experience with developing key metrics.
- Industry certifications: Certified Energy Manager, Certified Measurement & Verification Professional, Professional Engineer.
- Experience with Measurement & Verification methodologies.
- Knowledge of battery systems and microgrid technology.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $133,800/year in our lowest geographic market up to $231,300/year in our highest geographic market.
