Staff Accountant

Job Description

We are seeking a diligent and proactive Staff Accountant to manage invoicing, collections, and financial reconciliation. The ideal candidate will work closely with the Sales team and Shipping department to ensure smooth payment processes, as well as handle various accounting tasks including tax filings and asset management.

Responsibilities

  • Pursue past due invoices and communicate status updates and obstacles in collections with the manager.
  • Notify appropriate sales team members and management regarding past due accounts to be paid before more orders are taken.
  • Collaborate with the Sales team and Shipping department on clearing shipments as they relate to payment.
  • Invoice and apply customer payments, process card payments and credits.
  • Perform daily cash flow reconciliation and month-end reconciliation activities.
  • Quote material costs on orders.
  • Enter bills from vendors.
  • Issue weekly payments to vendors.
  • Handle sales tax exemptions and related requirements.
  • Manage use tax processes.
  • Perform fixed asset capitalization and depreciation.
  • File sales and use tax returns across multiple states.
  • Manage inventory transactions and bill of materials.
  • Utilize different software systems.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing of the books.

Work Environment

You will be working in a dynamic environment with a company that creates military medals. The role involves regular interaction with the Sales and Shipping departments. Dress code is business casual, and you will be using various accounting software systems.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $28.00/hr.

Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
