Position Description:

We are seeking an HRM Functional/Business Analyst to join our CGI team!

This full-time career opportunity is located in our Los Angeles, CA office with work performed at client site in Downey, CA. CGI has an in-office policy that includes working onsite 2-3 days a week. For this project, a hybrid working model is possible, with the expectations of 25-50% onsite presence or as directed by the Project manager. At this time, members in the Los Angeles area are onsite one full week a month.

You will be part of one of our largest projects in the LA metro area: Implementation of a Human Resources / Payroll / Financial / Budget / Procurement system. Includes full suite of an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system called CGI Advantage. As a result of this implementation, we are making a difference for approximately 150,000 teachers and administrative staff across LA County by making their lives easier/more streamlined for business processes and record keeping. To include state-of-the-art business intelligence usage to assist with efficient business processes and analysis and planning.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

How you'll make an impact


Must have the capability to design, test, and support system users in the human resources industry.

Collaborate with the client on technology and business process related efforts that include gathering functional business requirements, designing new system functionality, testing software code, and supporting end users.

Key Responsibilities:
Analyze HR Business Processes: Work with HR stakeholders to understand and analyze current HR processes related to Core HR, Position Management, and Absence Management

ERP Configuration & Support: Configure and maintain the ERP system to support HR business needs, including but not limited to employee records, position data, and absence policies

Requirements Gathering: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and document functional requirements for HR business processes and translate them into system configuration

Process Optimization: Identify opportunities for process improvements and work on system enhancements to streamline workflows and increase operational efficiency

Testing & Implementation: Participate in the testing of new ERP system functionalities, provide end-user training, and assist in reference table configurations, conversion and cutover activities

Troubleshooting & Issue Resolution: Provide ongoing support to HR users and resolve any system-related issues promptly

Data Management & Reporting: Ensure accurate data management and reporting within the ERP system related to HR processes, employee records, positions, and absence data

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

What you'll bring


Experience: 5+ years as an ERP HR Business Analyst, with a focus on Core HR, Position Management, and Absence Management

ERP Knowledge: Expertise in ERP systems like Advantage, SAP, Oracle HCM, Workday, or others with a deep understanding of HR modules and functionality. Experience in Advantage HCM ERP is a plus

Process Knowledge: Strong understanding of HR processes, particularly in the areas of employee lifecycle management, position control, and absence management (sick leave, vacation, etc.)

Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions

Technical Skills: Proficiency in using ERP configuration tools and HR reporting tools. Familiarity with data migration and integration concepts is a plus

Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels of the organization

Certification: ERP-specific certifications are a plus

Minimum Education Required: Bachelors Degree; equivalent related experience may be considered in lieu of degree

CGI is required by law in some jurisdictions to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and licensure and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit-based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $86, 200 - $167,700.
