Position Reports to: VP of Finance and Accounting
Supervisor Responsibilities: Supervises 1-2 Staff/Corporate Accountants
Experience: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or in Business Administration, or related field

Career Level: Manager
Salary: $110,000 - $127,000 (DOE)
Profit-sharing: Bonus varies based on yearly business results

Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Manager to perform and supervise accounting tasks in collaboration with The Challenger Group companies (Challenger Homes, The National Builder Group, and Goodwin Knight). As a member of The Challenger Group Accounting team, you will assist in daily, monthly, and annual activities, audits and resolving discrepancies, reporting and ad hoc duties as assigned. May oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting processes and reporting along with the VP of Finance & Accounting.
Essential Functions:
· Presents accurate & timely financial statements to management
· Manages cash & forecast upcoming cash sources & uses
· Establishes, implements, and documents the company’s financial policies and procedures
· Leverages, engages, aligns, and develops a high-performing team
· Identifies & reports other important financial metrics (e.g., rental rates, occupancy, rent growth, turnover, etc.)
· Establishes adequate internal controls to safeguard company resources
· Serves as the point of contact for all internal and external financial audits
· Provides analysis and evaluation of business strategies; assists with company strategic planning
· Provides management with timely reviews of the organization’s financial status and progress
· Provides day-to-day guidance and oversight of subordinates; actively works to promote and recognize performance
· Maintains strict confidentiality regarding any/all financial and personnel matters
· Performs other related duties as assigned by management
Minimum required Education/Credentials/Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
· Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or in Business Administration, or related field
· Experience: 5 years of experience in the related area as an individual contributor and 1-3 years’ supervisory experience
· Knowledge: Extensive knowledge of the function and department processes
