Delivery Optimization Advisor, Fulfillment Pharmacy Operations - Evernorth - Hybrid

POSITION SUMMARY

The Delivery Optimization team oversees the safe delivery of over 90 million prescription packages annually.  Our team creates and implements strategies around the shipping network to continually improve the experience of our patients and physicians while implementing expense reduction projects for the organization.  We work cross functionally with all Evernorth pharmacies to create efficiencies and leverage best practices.  The Delivery Optimization team manages the relationships with the leading carriers across the country and actively participates in the postage and shipping industry as one of the leaders in healthcare.

The Advisor will lead and manage Delivery Optimization supporting activities for Evernorth pharmacies.  This role is unique in that the responsibilities will be both tactical and strategic.  The tactical will be lights on/doors open support for operations and carrier partners.  The strategic will be collaborating with the Delivery Optimization team to share best practices, lessons learned and proven successes to improve the overall pharmacy delivery network.

This position is best suited for an individual who not only enjoys, but thrives in a dynamic and fast paced environment.  The ideal candidate is a highly motivated nimble learner, who requires minimal oversight, and a mindset to improve the contributions of the Delivery Optimization team.

This position is in-office aligned and will require the flexibility to perform onsite 3 days per week at a designated Cigna facility.

Primary Functions

• This role will be tactically engaged with the day-to-day operations of shipping networks and operations
• Engage and collaborate with cross-functional partners, and skilled at thinking strategically about how we can better serve our patients through optimizing the transit experience
• Providing actionable feedback to operations partners and carriers, with follow through to ensure accountability
• Implementing new and existing carrier processes
• Leading CI projects to improve internal processes that support shipping networks across Evernorth
• Assisting in patient triage and proactive outreach when there is an issue with delivery
• Coordinating with operations partners in the pharmacies to reduce their pain points
• Creates and maintains weather/carrier disruption plans
• Proactively identifies new opportunities and risks for carriers and drives resolution
• Responsible for capturing, documenting, and sharing market intelligence; use market intelligence to develop and drive strategic improvements
• Liaison with carriers to implement new solutions/technology, solve problems or improve processes
• Identifying best practices, creating repeatable processes and drafting procedures as needed

Key Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred; MBA preferred
• 5 years relevant experience in pharmacy, logistics, supply chain, transportation, distribution preferred
• Advanced problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively with other departments to resolve complex issues with innovative solutions
• Proven ability to perform in-depth data analysis and present insights in a clear manner is required
• Ability to adapt in a dynamic work environment, learn quickly, solve problems and make decisions with minimal supervision is required
• Excellent communication (oral and written), presentation, and facilitation skills; ability to create executive level summaries
• Strong analytical and technical reporting skills
• Advanced proficiency in Excel (v-lookups, pivot tables, macros), PowerPoint
• Knowledge of SQL query and Tableau preferred
• Ability to work in a matrix environment
