Development Manager

it's electric has been named as one of the products that will define technological innovation for the rest of this decade and beyond. A public charging solution to address the infrastructural and environmental justice barriers cities face in the deployment of electric vehicle charging. Reporting to the Director of Public Affairs, the Development Manager role is crucial to the company’s growth in creating compelling materials in service of securing capital that enables the expansion of it’s electric’s community-centered approach to EV charging. The Development Manager is responsible for leading the strategy as well as the execution of grant and competition applications across private, philanthropic, and government (local, state, and federal) opportunities in addition to all required post-award tracking and reporting.

Candidate Requirements

Strong candidates will have a minimum 2 years of relevant experience in business development, campaign strategy, communications and marketing, and/or grant writing roles. On a daily basis, the Development Manager will respond to RFIs and RFPs; create and submit materials ranging from internal strategy documents to fully written proposals; manage all compliance reporting; and support special project initiatives.  The role will fully own the  development, submission, and management of  funding opportunities that align with it’s electric’s goals. This position requires incredibly strong writing skills in addition to attention to detail, data analysis, and time management skills, with an emphasis on possessing strong human intelligence to intuit the receiving audience to then tailor content to that group. Candidates should have a demonstrated interest in the mission, vision, and values of it’s electric (prior work in Electric Vehicle Charging, Sustainability, or Climate Tech is not a requirement).

Relevant Experience:

A proven track record of the development, award, and post-award management of grant, campaign, or new business opportunities. While not required, transportation sector experience is preferred. 

Role Requirements:

  • Demonstrated analytical as well as persuasive writing ability
  • Superior editing and proof-reading skills
  • A keen attention to detail
  • Ability to create and apply different tones for core application content that as a result can resonate it’s electric’s key value propositions to diverse audience sets (from a general audience; to a highly technical one; from a design focused opportunity; to a community centered approach and beyond).
  • Ability to work with autonomy, clarity, and precision to respond to multiple deadlines without sacrificing quality.
  • Fluency in Google Workspace, Microsoft Excel, Word, Adobe Acrobat, CRM/database platforms, and willingness to learn additional applications.

Candidate Responsibilities

  • Monitor and maintain funder reporting schedules 
  • Track award progress and create reports (using both it’s electric’s templates as well as those of the funder) to demonstrate programmatic outcomes and goals
  • Target and secure letters of support from external partners and collaborators
  • Track, internally communicate, and meet all application deadlines.
  • Maintain and manage documentation and records in accordance with funder requirements.
  • Maintain and manage master calendar of grant prospects  
  • Maintain and manage master content and document library
  • Create copy for additional communication-focused materials

Salary

Salary range is $80-$130k depending on length and relevance of candidate’s experience. Qualified candidates will be offered a salary according to the following guidelines, with final salary determined by relevant experience in this space:

  • $80-90k: Minimum 2 years of experience
  • $90-110k: 3-5 years experience
  • $110-$130k: Minimum 5 years of experience
