Senior Product Designer, User Engagement (CAN)

The NerdWallet app does the work for our customers, tracking their budget, finances, and credit — all in one place. We show users their financial accounts in one central location, monitor their spending, credit score, and net worth, and research thousands of financial products for them. Plus, offer nerdy tips to help them manage their finances smarter and work toward their goals.

Nerdwallet is looking for a Senior Product Designer to join the Nerdwallet app team as we continue to build out our features and consumer experiences. In this role, you will be responsible for design ideation and delivery for one of the Nerdwallet app development pods. This role will work closely with a variety of internal team members such as engineering, product management, quality assurance and UX research to evolve the Nerdwallet app. You will report to the Senior Director of Product Management.

  • Move seamlessly between strategy and tactics to bring NerdWallet’s purpose to life. Navigate the natural tension between designing for revenue impact and designing for user needs.

  • Able to think through and develop end to end user journeys and the details of the experiences in between 

  • Deliver high-quality designs with speed

  • Experiment with and test ideas that are supportive of an evolving user base

  • Elevate product design through a deep understanding of NerdWallet’s audience, and doing what’s right for them 

  • Promote collaboration and communication with cross-functional colleagues to push boundaries, influence product roadmaps, and have a strong impact on product design and quality

  • Continually iterate on the team's processes — improving design quality, speed, and collaboration through efficiency and attention to craft so the team can work smarter, not harder

Your experience:

We recognize not everyone will meet all of the criteria. If you meet most of the criteria below and you’re excited about the opportunity and willing to learn, we’d love to hear from you.

  • 5+ years of professional experience in Product Design 

  • Experience designing in native apps and mobile web

  • Ability to utilize research and data to drive design decisions

  • Experience working closely with the business team

  • Experience working in a fast-paced, iterative work environment 

  • Comfortable using Figma (or similar design program) as a primary design and prototyping tool

  • Previous experience contributing to design system component libraries and style guide documentation

  • Experience working on complex B2C native mobile apps

  • Experience with A/B testing

  • Stellar visual design skills

  • This is a remote position and a person can be located anywhere in Canada (with the exception of Quebec).
