JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Penn State Extension Better Kid Care is seeking a full-time Graphic Design Specialist. The successful candidate will work in tandem with other Better Kid Care designers and a team of content specialists to create resources for our online professional development courses. Work may include the creation of handouts, illustrations, presentation materials, video clips, custom animation, social media graphics, newsletters in Mailchimp, and H5P interactive content. Daily activities may also include marketing and outreach development.
This is a limited term position funded for one year from date of hire with excellent possibility of refunding. This position has the potential to be fully remote.
Education and Experience:
Minimum requirements for this position include an associate's degree and two or more years of relevant experience, an equivalent combination of education and experience accepted.
Required skills:
In-depth knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite with interactive document experience using InDesign
Graphic design experience with typography, page design, and layout for web and print delivery
Basic HTML, CSS, and Plone (or other CMS) skills
Knowledge of YouTube, Kaltura, and social media platforms
A working knowledge of implementing WCAG 2.2 requirements for publishing accessible PDFs and content online
Previous experience and a degree in a multimedia-related field required
Must be able to organize and share ideas while working both independently and with a team on multiple projects simultaneously
Preferred skills:
A strong illustration ability and experience with H5P
Experience with FileMaker Pro 23 and Mailchimp

The salary range for this position, including all possible grades is:
$51,000.00 - $74,000.00Salary Structure - additional information on Penn State's job and salary structure.
