Vice President of Provider Engagement

The Vice President of Provider Engagement is responsible for designing and executing a best-in-class provider engagement strategy that fosters strong, collaborative relationships with provider groups and health systems. This leader will align departmental priorities with enterprise goals, driving innovation and growth through the expansion of existing provider accounts. The role demands a strategic thinker with exceptional leadership, communication, and organizational skills, capable of guiding discussions on how Vatica supports providers in transitioning to value-based care arrangements with health plans. The position operates with significant independence and minimal supervision.


Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

  • Formulate and execute a successful provider engagement strategy aligned with Vatica’s corporate objectives. Provide leadership that combines broad, strategic vision with a critical eye for optimization of internal operational processes to achieve exceptional results.
  • Monitor industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices to inform strategy and ensure the organization remains competitive.

Provider Relationship Management

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to key strategic contacts, providing industry / market benchmarking and perspectives leading to consultative conversations about value-based care contracting and how Vatica can continue to support practices as they take on risk.
  • Understand provider group challenges and asks, with strong instincts and the ability to manage performance, competitive landscape and risk.
  • Act as the escalation point for provider engagement matters, ensuring timely resolutions. Communicate provider needs and opportunities to internal teams for continuous improvement.

Operational Excellence & Cross-Functional Collaboration

Lead initiatives to improve provider satisfaction, adoption, and retention.

  • Optimize performance and increase provider satisfaction through close collaboration with the Payer & Provider Sales, Clinical Operations, Member Engagement and Analytics teams.
  • Leverage technology and data analytics to support provider engagement, including dashboards, performance tools, and feedback mechanisms.

Performance Management

  • Synthesize and articulate key findings as appropriate for clinical operations, sales, product development, and executive audiences, proactively presenting strategic recommendations.
  • Define and track KPIs to measure the success of provider engagement initiatives, focusing on adoption, retention, and satisfaction. Lead the development of new provider performance resources and tools, including dashboards and scorecards.

Team Leadership

  • Build and lead a high-performing provider engagement team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability.
  • Provide mentorship, coaching, and professional development opportunities to team members.
  • Ensure alignment across teams and departments to deliver a seamless provider experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare, Business, or a related field; MBA or MHA preferred.
  • Ten, or more, years of progressive leadership experience in provider relations working with primary care practices and health delivery systems: network development, engagement, and value-based care performance optimization
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire teams in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
  • Exceptional relationship-building and conflict-resolution skills, with a growth mindset.
  • Leadership skills that extend cross-functionally and contribute to driving an exceptional experience for participating providers/practices/health delivery systems
  • Results-driven with the ability to translate strategic objectives into actionable outcomes.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to leverage data to drive decision-making.
  • The ability to influence provider audiences through strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with formal presentations
  • Familiarity with Commercial, Medicare and Medicaid risk adjustment
  • Experience working with risk-bearing or large health delivery systems
  • Willingness to travel up to 25%.
