📐 About this role

Every company grows differently, and we grow when we help developers and technical teams succeed with generative AI. We are looking for someone to create and champion our product marketing efforts for developer-focused solutions—helping our users understand and get the full value out of our platform. In this strategic role, you'll build a deep understanding of the product and our developer audience: who they are, their pain points, and how Writer solves their challenges. You'll develop messaging tailored to technical audiences across platforms—from strategy to execution.

This is a highly cross-functional role that requires a close partnership with our product, engineering, sales, and marketing teams, as well as engaging directly with developers to understand their needs.

This role reports to our head of product marketing. You’ll be part of a small but powerful marketing team, building the program from the ground up. We’re looking for someone who works backwards from excellence, has a deep technical curiosity, and operates with a sense of urgency.

🦸🏻‍♀️ Your responsibilities

  • Take complex, developer-focused products to market—craft the narrative and launch strategy, create technical messaging and positioning, dive deep into the technical details, and enable our sales and customer success teams to drive pipeline and adoption

  • Develop product positioning and messaging that resonates with developers, engineering managers, and technical decision-makers, in collaboration with PM and GTM teams

  • Deeply understand developers’ workflows, their top use cases for generative AI, and the value they derive from the platform

  • Work with sales enablement to empower reps with the technical fluency to speak as experts about our platform’s core differentiators

  • Be an expert on our competitors’ technical offerings, their capabilities, and how we position Writer against them

  • Create high-priority developer-focused assets like API documentation, integration guides, technical blogs, product pages, sales decks, case studies, and more

  • Act as a bridge between the product and engineering teams and external audiences, ensuring clear communication of technical concepts and capabilities

⭐️ Is this you?

  • 7+ years of experience at a high-growth B2B tech company with 5+ years of product marketing experience, including at least 3 years focusing on developer platforms, APIs, or other technical products

  • Experience working in a net-new category and bringing complex, developer-oriented products to market

  • Exceptional ability to simplify and communicate complex technical requirements and capabilities in a way that resonates with developers

  • Proven track record of successful product launches targeting developers or technical audiences

  • Deep customer empathy and the ability to understand developer workflows and challenges

  • High attention to detail and ownership over the end-to-end product marketing lifecycle

  • Proactive communication skills, both synchronous and asynchronous

  • Ability to set and maintain a high bar for what you build, write, and ship

  • Strong people and project management skills to deliver results collaboratively

  • A strong interest in—and massive curiosity about—generative AI and its application in developer workflows

  • A love for technical writing and storytelling that engages developer communities
