Talent Acquisition Specialist - Grooming

We’re looking for a driven, enthusiastic Talent Acquisition Specialist to support the growth of our grooming team. You will be responsible for creating a smooth, efficient, and excellent experience for our grooming candidates throughout their interview process. An empathetic, down-to-earth attitude coupled with relentless execution and high attention to detail is essential to thrive in this role.

Hiring the nation’s best dog groomers and support staff is priority #1 for the company, and you would be an essential part of this high-impact work! You’ll be working with a collaborative, high quality, and fun team that solves problems with thoughtfulness and speed. Come join the pack!

Responsibilities

  • Execute end-to-end recruiting processes, including job postings, application review, screenings, and offer negotiation

  • Maintain and achieve monthly hiring targets to fuel company growth

  • Deliver a stellar candidate experience: identify and anticipate candidate's needs; follow issues to closure; collaborate with the People Team to maximize the candidate experience

  • Dive into the grooming world to sourcing candidates from both traditional (Indeed, LinkedIn) and less conventional (Groomer community groups, grooming schools, etc) avenues.

  • Maintain a close pulse on Barkbus’s operations and the groomer experience to ensure candidate capabilities and career goals are aligned, leading to long-term retention

  • Embody Barkbus values (Resilience, Company First, Safety & Respect, Positive Energy) to nurture cultural alignment with everyone on the team

  • Ensure excellent ATS hygiene, timely documentation, and clean data

Qualifications:

  • Experience: 2+ years of recruiting experience, preferably with a skilled hourly workforce. Can handle a high volume of inbound and outbound candidate management for both passive and active candidate generation

  • Strong Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to connect with candidates and hiring managers in a friendly, thoughtful, and professional manner

  • Organized & Detail-Oriented: Ability to juggle multiple priorities, keep track of candidates, and ensure that the hiring process is efficient and seamless

  • Tech-Savvy: Comfortable using applicant tracking systems (ATS), job boards like Indeed, LinkedIn, and ZipRecruiter, and social media platforms to manage and attract talent

  • Passion for Pets: A genuine love for animals and a commitment to our mission of providing the best care for dogs and their owners

  • Collaborative: Ability to build relationships with people at all levels and create a welcoming, inclusive environment for all candidates
