About the team

Fraud Group

The Fraud Group is responsible for supporting and developing GBG’s Compliance and Fraud Systems for Application and Transaction Monitoring (GBG Instinct and GBG Predator respectively), and NextGen Unified Platform.

The role

We are looking for an experienced and capable Product Owner to join our regional Fraud team. This position is a permanent, full-time role. The role offers a rare opportunity to work in a fast growing, best of breed company that retains the atmosphere and culture of a start-up. What you will do

  • Undertake analysis on possible solutions to customer/user needs based upon GBG Fraud propositions and solutions.
  • Facilitate meetings with internal business and technology subject matter experts, and external stakeholders where required, to elicit requirements.
  • Take the lead in breaking down high-level requirements into smaller, achievable, vertically sliced user stories.
  • Take the lead in creating acceptance criteria that clearly articulate the functionality needed before a user story can be considered complete.
  • Take the lead in creating business analysis artifacts (flowcharts, system flow diagrams, etc) that describe the system-level steps involved in a user story. 
  • In conjunction with our UX team, where required, create wireframes that consider UX principles and clearly articulate the desired user interface for a given story or solution.
  • Take the lead in ensuring team members contribute to the creation of, and deeply understand, all user stories at the appropriate points in the development cycle.
  • Work with quality assurance and software engineers to ensure testing needs are adequately considered as part of the acceptance criteria.
  • Take the lead in explaining small customer-requested functionality enhancements to a sufficient detail so that the team can calculate reasonable, considered development time estimates.
  • Actively participate in Agile team ceremonies, contributing to ensure they provide value to the team.
  • Contribute to improvements in processes and practices.
  • Adhere to requested techniques and practices to meet objectives.
  • When required, work with Sales, Professional Services and Support teams to assist customers with incidents and queries on products and services.
  • Occasionally, assist Go to Market staff with responses to tenders.

What are we looking for

  • Customer-focused and enjoys helping others.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience working in Agile development teams.
  • Demonstrated experience in eliciting and documenting customer and system needs and requirements via user stories.
  • Ability to create and update common business analysis artifacts (E-R diagrams, process flowcharts, data flow diagrams, etc.).
  • Comfortable running workshops and presenting to groups of customers, business people, architects and engineers.
  • Considerable experience as a product owner, business analyst or architect working on corporate or customer facing systems.
  • Strong experience communicating designs using diagrams, charts and other documents to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong experience envisioning solutions to customer needs given pre-existing products or product suites.
  • Experience with product development and/or financial services will be highly regarded.
  • Awareness of user experience and user interface design techniques and considerations
  • Awareness of SOAP web services and RESTful API's
