As an Database Administrator you will: 

  • Manage and optimize databases within the Microsoft SQL Server environment, ensuring high performance, security, and reliability.
  • Design, implement, and maintain database solutions, including schema design, data modeling, and data architecture for efficient data storage and retrieval.
  • Perform database administration tasks such as backup and recovery, performance tuning, and troubleshooting to maintain database health and availability.
  • Develop and execute data migration strategies between different database systems and versions, ensuring data integrity and consistency.
  • Collaborate with teams to gather business requirements and translate them into effective database solutions aligned with organizational goals.
  • Conduct performance monitoring and optimization to enhance database efficiency and scalability.
  • Stay updated with the latest Microsoft data technologies and recommend their adoption to improve data management processes.
  • Proven experience as a Database Administrator (DBA) with expertise in Microsoft SQL Server (2012+), including Database Engine, Reporting Services, and Integration Services.
  • Strong knowledge of database design principles, data modeling, and schema optimization for efficient data storage and retrieval.
  • Proficiency in SQL programming, including writing and debugging stored procedures, query optimization, and performance tuning within the SQL Server environment.
  • Experience with data migration, integration, and ETL processes using tools such as SSIS (SQL Server Integration Services) or similar technologies.
  • Hands-on experience optimizing database models, including structure, triggers, stored procedures, and functions, to enhance performance.
  • Strong problem-solving and debugging skills, with a focus on troubleshooting database-related issues and continuously improving performance.
  • Familiarity with Azure Data Services and cloud-based data solutions within the Microsoft ecosystem; knowledge of Azure Cloud and Power Automate is a plus.
  • Understanding database security best practices and the ability to implement and maintain security measures.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
