Director of Marketing

Job Description


The Director of Marketing provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for the marketing division, ensuring alignment with the company's overall strategy. This role empowers department managers to execute their responsibilities effectively, drive effective marketing campaigns, and foster a collaborative, creative, high-performing team. The Director works closely with the VP of Marketing, department managers, the Public Relations Director, Sales Directors, and other company leaders to achieve the company's marketing goals. This is a full-time position with remote, hybrid and on-site opportunities available.


Responsibilities
  • Work to develop and implement strategy, lead marketing managers, and analyze data to improve KPIs to achieve company goals
  • Develop, negotiate, and manage the advertising budget, working with managers to execute campaigns
  • Ensure the website attracts and converts leads, collaborating with departments on web improvements and updates
  • Work with the Public Relations Director to support joint initiatives through events, social media, and ecosystem growth
  • Empower the company's sales activators in North America and internationally with promotional support, sales tools, and marketing-qualified leads
  • Meet weekly with marketing managers to direct their efforts, foster team unity, facilitate communication, and develop their leadership skills
  • Oversee the effective deployment of marketing technology, staff, and other resources to execute the company's marketing strategy effectively
  • Work with other leaders to collaborate marketing efforts with other departments to drive company initiatives
  • Work with writers and editors to ensure marketing content effectively engages the company's target audience of control systems engineers
  • Create a strong team culture to maintain a satisfactory retention rate


Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or related field
  • 7+ years of experience in marketing, 5+ years in management
  • Proven ability to lead and develop marketing teams
  • Strong understanding of digital marketing, branding, and marketing content and technology
  • Experience with budget management and advertising
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Experience with marketing automation and analytics
  • Additional Skills (Not Required, But Are Preferred): 
  • Familiarity with the manufacturing or IT industry
  • Experience with social media advertising and Google Ads
  • Certification in Google Analytics, Marketo, HubSpot, or Project Management
  • Knowledge of Search Engine Optimization (SEO)
  • Strong public speaking skills and experience
  • Experience effectively using AI-driven marketing tools
  • Experience with crisis communications


$175,000 - $225,000 a year
Pay
Based on the Sacramento region, the new hires minimum and maximum target salary for this role is $175k-$225k.

Inductive Automation’s ranges are market-driven and set to allow for flexibility. Although it is not typical for an individual to start at the top end of the range for the position, compensation decisions are dependent on: the facts and circumstances of each case, work location, job-related skills, experience, relevant education or training; and other business and organizational needs.
