A well-established food processing company in Johnson City, TN, is seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join their team! They are looking for candidates with at least 2 years of accounting experience, preferably within a CPA firm to be responsible for assisting with various accounting tasks, including Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, inventory management, payroll, monthly reconciliations, and tax filings. To find out more about what this exciting role has to offer you, apply now!Staff Accountant Requirements:• Bachelor s degree in Accounting• 2+ years of accounting experience, preferably with a CPA firm• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)• Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on accuracy• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines• Willingness to travel for inventory audits• Strong math, organizational, and data entry skills• Ability to work well as part of a team• Willingness to learn and adapt to the company s ERP system and accounting processes• CPA or willingness to obtain CPA certification is preferred• Experience with ERP systems (preferably Microsoft Dynamics AX) is preferred• Familiarity with ADP payroll systems is a plus but not requiredStaff Accountant Responsibilities:• Support Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable processes as needed• Assist with inventory management and act as a backup to the Inventory Staff Accountant• Perform accounting tasks for plant sites, including reconciliation of freight invoices• Assist with payroll-related functions and fixed asset depreciation schedules• Conduct monthly bank reconciliations and process regular monthly journal entries• Prepare property and sales tax returns for review• Reconcile inventory reports to the general ledger and recommend adjustments• Review and approve invoice journals and support monthly close procedures• Prepare monthly financial statements and assist with audit schedules• Participate in insurance renewals and updates throughout the year• Assist Controller and act as a backup to other accounting team members• Travel to plant sites a few times a year to help with inventory auditsBenefits:• Health insurance• PTO + PSL• Paid holidays• Group Life insurance• Profit-sharing• Company promotes from within and offers lots of growth opportunities• Casual but professional office environmentApply now!#LI-POST #LI-ONSITE #LI-IR1
