RRD is seeking an Application & Production Support Specialist to join our team! 

The ideal candidate will have experience working with ActiveBatch & Globalscape.

 

Job Summary:

The Application & Production Support Specialist is responsible for the support of applications/systems/databases and third-party software programs. He/She will ensure that deployments will successfully migrate into production without faults and resolve issues regarding operations, including installations, setups, error messages, online transactions, system status, and downtime procedures. 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Under minimal supervision, respond to and research and resolve moderately complex issues with internal applications/systems
  • Performs backups where applicable and can be on call with 24-hour support coverage when needed
  • Analyze software deployments of moderate complexity to ensure that transition to production is seamless and without faults
  • Conduct maintenance programming to resolve any issues that are found. Additionally, analyze frequently occurring issues related to operational and performance issues for supported applications/systems and/or databases
  • Independently set up, and conduct integration testing to ensure that software meets the specifications and that deployment will have no issues with the other components of the application/system
  • Provides input to peers, management, and customers for recommendations and alternate solutions and/or improvements. 
  • Document support issues and solutions. Prepare design documentation for all maintenance programming and/or re-development/enhancement/patches.
  • Prepares time estimates for all phases of technical support projects. Performs other related duties and participates in special projects as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a discipline related to function of work with 3+ years of relevant work experience
  • 2+ years experience working with and setting up ActiveBatch job plans and work flows
  • 2+ years experience working with Globalscape EFT and setting up automated FTP plans
  • 2+ years experience working with SQL Server/SSIS is a plus
  • Experience with C#/.Net is a plus
  • Working knowledge of ServiceNow or similar ticketing system
  • Google Suite experience strongly preferred
  • Must be able to recognize anomalies and critical situations and respond appropriately 
  • May require knowledge of or ability to quickly learn specialized software to complete work assignments
  • Able to demonstrate continued expertise in the primary tools or applications used in completing daily work assignments
  • Requires very good communication skills with the ability to state messages in a clear manner by using language that is easy for others to understand
  • Must be able to clearly articulate business needs to both internal and external customers

Additional Information

RRD's current salary range for this role is $67,800 to $105,800 / year. The salary range may be adjusted based on the applicable geographic location of the hired employee, and the range may change in the future. At RRD, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions may vary based upon, but not limited to education, skills, experience, proficiency, performance, shift and location. Depending on the role, in addition to base salary, the total compensation package may also include participation in a bonus, commission or incentive program. RRD’s benefit offerings include medical, dental, and vision coverage, paid time off, disability insurance, 401(k) with company match, life insurance and other voluntary supplemental insurance coverages, plus parental leave, adoption assistance, tuition assistance and employer/partner discounts.
