Overview

TruMerit is looking for a passionate Human Resource professional to join our team and make a difference in the world as a full-time HR Generalist.

As a Human Resources Generalist, you play a pivotal role in various HR functions, ensuring the smooth operation of HR processes within our organization. As an HR Generalist, you will be responsible for managing and supporting a wide range of HR functions and will serve as a key liaison between employees and management, providing expertise, guidance, and support in various HR areas.

Modernizing our people practice and making sure we consistently and equitably execute Payroll Administration, Human Resources, Talent practices, and Benefits administration across our workforce is a priority. Our HR team is a small, efficient team that works closely with management to execute day-to-day Human Resource practices and identity and craft the training, performance, and recruitment programs required to establish TruMerit as the company of choice. As a result, every team member should expect to be actively engaged across the range of human resources operations and hands on at all levels of the organization. The expectation is that you participate in the ongoing development of the Human Resources capability by finding new opportunities to work more effectively and efficiently, prioritizing, and managing expectations, and approaching challenges/issues/needs with a “there’s always a way” mindset.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities


  • Process bi-weekly payroll accurately and on time, including reconciliation and related accounting tasks.
  • Responsible for Year-end payroll and accounting functions.
  • Administer and oversee employee benefits programs, including open enrollment, new hire enrollments, vendor coordination, reconciling invoices and performing benefit related administrative tasks.
  • Assist employees with benefits-related questions and claims.
  • Assist with managing recruitment efforts: job postings, candidate screening, interview scheduling, and onboarding.
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Administer and track leave of absence requests, including FMLA, ADA, and other leave programs.
  • Prepare and analyze HR reports and support audits as needed.
  • Maintain HRIS and employee records accurately and confidentially.
  • Partner with employees and management to communicate and interpret HR policies and procedures.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive workplace culture that encourages employee engagement, productivity, and retention.
  • Participate in HR projects and initiatives to enhance HR practices.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices. 
  • Manage the offboarding process. 


Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business, or related field.


Experience, Skills, & Abilities:

  •  5+ years of progressive HR experience with specific experience in payroll and benefits administration.
  •  Strong understanding of FMLA, ADA, and compliance requirements.
  •  Experience with HR reporting and data analysis.
  •  Proficiency in HRIS systems; Paylocity experience preferred.
  •  SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification preferred.
  •  Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  •  Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a high degree of confidentiality and professionalism.
  •  Working knowledge of payroll/accounting practices.
  •  Prior experience in a multi-state or remote workforce environment.
