UAM is a comprehensive, residential and commuter, undergraduate institution also offering selected master’s degree programs.

Summary of Job Duties:

The successful candidate must work in a fast-paced environment and meet required deadlines; process and reconcile all payrolls as scheduled; complete associated reports and submit funds by wire to various vendors; generate various reports and files from Workday software; process certain amounts withheld and matched from employees’ salary after each payroll; set up various liabilities and oversee associated payments eliminating payables and conduct fiscal year-end tasks; The successful candidate must also acquire general knowledge of the university, state, and federal personnel policies and procedures; must respond and provide assistance to employees; monitor and correct various personnel actions; perform various reconciliations; and perform other duties as assigned. Occasional work is required after normal work hours and some weekends.


Qualifications:

The formal education equivalent of a baccalaureate degree in general business, finance, or related field; knowledge of the principles and practices of human resources; ability to prepare, present, and review oral and written information and documents; ability to interpret and apply state and agency/institution policies and procedures governing human resources; ability to work in a technological environment demonstrating proficiency in word processing, spreadsheets, and data base applications. Must be self-motivated and complete job tasks without detailed guidance. Individual must be able to quickly and effectively communicate to a diverse group of employees, benefits providers, and other parties. Other job related education and/or experience may be substituted for all or part of these basic requirements, upon the approval of the qualifications review committee
