Human Resources Manager (Individual Contributor - IC)

This role is for one of the Weekday's clients

Salary range: Rs 3000000 - Rs 3500000 (ie INR 30-35 LPA)

Min Experience: 7 years

Location: Bangalore

JobType: full-time

We are looking for a dynamic and experienced HR Manager (IC) to lead HR operations for our rapidly growing Bangalore team. In this hands-on role, you will be the primary HR point of contact in India—overseeing core HR functions, ensuring compliance, and nurturing a strong organizational culture. You’ll work closely with leadership based in the US to align local HR practices with global goals.

Key Responsibilities:

1. HR Operations & Compliance

  • Manage payroll, employee benefits, leave administration, and statutory compliance (PF, ESIC, PT, Gratuity, etc.).
  • Maintain accurate HR documentation and ensure adherence to Indian labor laws and company policies.
  • Oversee vendor relationships including payroll, insurance, and background verification providers.

2. Employee Engagement & Culture

  • Lead employee engagement initiatives, performance reviews, and recognition programs.
  • Cultivate a positive workplace culture aligned with our US headquarters while incorporating local context.
  • Handle employee relations, conduct stay interviews, and drive retention strategies.

3. Learning & Development

  • Identify skill gaps and coordinate relevant training and development initiatives.
  • Partner with managers to support career development and internal mobility.

4. HR Analytics & Continuous Improvement

  • Monitor and report key HR metrics such as attrition, hiring efficiency, and engagement scores.
  • Enhance HR processes through automation and AI-driven solutions.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • 7–10 years of HR experience, preferably in fast-paced startups or tech-driven organizations.
  • Strong command of Indian labor laws, payroll, and statutory compliance.
  • Proven experience across the HR lifecycle – including talent acquisition, HR operations, and employee relations.
  • Exposure to working with globally distributed teams, especially US-based counterparts, is an advantage.
  • Tech-savvy and comfortable using HRIS and ATS platforms (e.g., Greenhouse, Lever) and tools like Slack, Notion.
  • Self-driven and resourceful, able to operate independently in a remote-friendly environment.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
