Position Overview
Apollo is seeking a highly motivated Director level sales professional with excellent client engagement skills and strong knowledge of alternative investments to join our Private Banks and Wires team within the Global Wealth Management Solutions (“GWMS”) business. In partnership with the broader Private Banks/ Wires team, this individual will be responsible for driving dialogue and engagement with clients Northern California and neighboring regions in partnership with senior sales lead. This Director will play an important role in expanding Apollo’s involvement and brand recognition with key partners.

In partnership with the broader Private Banks/ Wires team, this individual will be responsible for driving dialogue and engagement with clients across the Northern California and neighboring regions in partnership with senior sales lead. This Director will play an important role in expanding Apollo’s involvement and brand recognition with key partners.
Develop and maintain an ongoing, detailed understanding of Private Banks/Wires market, APO business plan/strategic approach and support needs. Assist in executing coverage strategy.
Proactively engage with Advisors and drive new sales in the Northern California and neighboring regions. Partner with team to ensure that we are strategically and effectively covering the top allocators.
Continuously prospect for leads in the market, with the goal of introducing new prospects to Apollo.
Develop deep understanding of Apollo product offerings available across the Wealth channel. Be able to articulate competitive advantages for key strategies to advance the dialogue with client/prospects.
Participate in dialogue with clients around asset allocation, portfolio construction and implementation decisions across asset classes with the objective of building relationships and driving fundraising outcomes.
Serve as a conduit for front to back lifecycle education and marketing of the full APO platform, in coordination with partners across product, sales, client service etc.
Partner with members of the marketing team to support the creation and execution of marketing campaigns to the Private Banks/ Wires investor base.
Work in partnership with product and client teams to help manage new capital raises, events and webinars focused on the Private Banks/ Wires investor base.
Proactively manage a travel schedule locally and regionally on a semi-regular basis.
Serve as a mentor for more junior team members and play an active role in their continued development.
Qualifications & Experience
Strong understanding of sales cycle
Minimum of 6-7 years of experience in financial services industry
Prior experience working with institutional investors and financial advisors
Prior knowledge/work experience in alternative investments required
Strong organizational skills and work ethic
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in written form
Must work effectively with other groups in the organization and collaborate as necessary
Discretion and ability to handle confidential, sensitive information
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications/functions required including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Working knowledge of CRM, preferably Salesforce
Bachelor’s degree required
Series 7 and 63 licensed
Demonstrates integrity, high-energy and motivation to succeed

The base salary range for this position is listed above. This position is also eligible for a discretionary annual bonus based on personal, team, and Firm performance. Compensation ranges are based on several factors including job function, level, and geographic location. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including candidate experience and expertise, and may vary from the amounts listed here.
