Vice President of Human Resources (Multi-Unit, Multi-State Foodservice)

Location: Malvern, PA

As a result of the retirement of the incumbent, we are looking for a strategic and hands-on Vice President of Human Resources (VP of HR) to lead our people operations and drive our HR strategy -supporting growth and compliance across diverse markets.


About the Role


As the VP of HR, you will be a key member of the executive team, leading all aspects of HR strategy, talent management, compliance, employee relations, and culture development. You will ensure that our workforce—ranging from corporate employees to operational staff in the field - has the support, tools, and leadership necessary to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. 


Key Responsibilities


Strategic HR Leadership

  • Develop and execute HR strategies that align with company growth, culture, and operational goals.
  • Partner with executives and operational leaders to ensure HR policies and programs support business objectives.
  • Foster a diverse, engaging workplace culture across all locations.

Talent Management

  • Oversee high-volume recruiting strategies to attract and retain top talent in school, corporate, and camp dining facilities.
  • Implement development and career pathing programs to foster growth opportunities for internal operations managers and employees.
  • Establish training programs that improve service quality, leadership skills, and operational excellence.

Compliance & Employee Relations

  • Ensure compliance with multi-state labor laws, wage and hour regulations, OSHA, EEO, Workers’ Compensation, Benefits, 401(k), Safety, Training, insurance-required and industry-specific requirements.
  • Manage and resolve employee relations issues with consistency and fairness across locations.
  • Develop and update HR policies, handbooks, and SOPs to maintain compliance across all units.

Compensation, Benefits & Performance Management

  • Design competitive compensation structures, incentive programs, and benefits to attract and retain employees.
  • Oversee payroll compliance and employment classification across multiple states. Ability to back-up payroll when needed.
  • Implement effective performance management systems that drive accountability and operational excellence.

HR Operations & Technology

  • Optimize HR technology, including HRIS/Payroll and workforce management systems for a geographically dispersed workforce.  Paylocity experience helpful.
  • Utilize HR analytics and KPIs to drive data-driven decisions and workforce planning.
  • Streamline HR processes to enhance efficiency and compliance across all locations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field.  MBA desired.
  • 10+ years of Head HR multi-state, multi-unit leadership experience. Experience in foodservice or hospitality/service industry desired.
  • Strong expertise in relevant industry labor laws, wage and hour regulations, and compliance.
  • Strong compensation, benefits, and performance management experience.
  • Experience managing high-volume recruiting, workforce planning, and employee relations in a fast-paced environment.
  • Extensive experience managing HR/Payroll-related vendors.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Self-directed and strong creator/developer experience.
  • Spanish speaking and writing fluency a plus. 
  • Ability to travel as needed to various locations.
  • HR certification (e.g., SHRM-SCP, SPHR) preferred.
  • Salary is commensurate with experience with a range of $150,000 to $175,000 and eligible for an annual discretionary bonus
