Manages the company's accounting services and processes. This Job Category includes accounting positions embedded in BUs, in Corporate Departments, and Financial Shared Services (FSS). (Note: FSS accounting leadership/managerial positions should not be mapped to this Job Category.)

Supports clients/customers and assists with functional projects under regular supervision. Has a general knowledge of the work group.

In Finance, you will have the opportunity to grow your career in different functional groups such as Accounts Payable, Midstream Accounting, Bank, Revenue and Retail, Credits and Receivables, Intercompany, Financial Accounting and Reporting, Upstream Accounting and Business Analysis and Support.

Chevron is accepting online applications for the Payroll Accounting Analyst position located in Makati City.

As a Payroll Accounting Analyst, your responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:

1. Accounting Process

  • Monitors that all payroll entries for completed payroll runs are posted in the relevant Chevron ERP.
  • Coordinates with relevant parties to secure supporting documentation to complete accounting entries and reports.
  • Completes month end accounting activities such as accruals, cost re-direction or charge outs, cost analysis, etc.
  • Analyzes accounts, understands the balances and movements, and explains variances to stakeholders.
  • Perform accounts reconciliation.
  • Handles pension accounting and reporting.
  • Performs and assumes other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned.

2. Controls and Customer Support

  • Monitors performance of SOX controls and ensures that documentary evidence are available for review.
  • Handles internal inquiries and requests related to payroll GL recordings and controls.
  • Engages with business partners to resolve issues and/or explain and account balances
  • Follows data privacy policies and protects the confidentiality of employee information.

3. Process Improvement

  • Identifies, collaborates and implements process efficiencies.
  • Learns and applies digital tools to automate manual processes.
  • Participates, as necessary, in internal corporate initiatives that impacts payroll accounting.
  • Contributes in setting goals with team for continuous cost effectiveness and service quality improvement in enhancing cost efficiency in own work.
  • Participates in special projects as assigned by Team Leader and ensures that project objectives are met.

4. Customer Centric

  • Responds to customer complaints by gathering facts relative to the incident.
  • Determines cause and assesses impact and determines corrective action.
  • Communicates facts and corrective action to concerned parties and implements long-term preventive action to minimize its recurrence.
  • Responds to customer queries in a polite and timely manner, ensuring that the information provided is accurate.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical, teamwork and customer engagement skills
  • Must have the propensity to work in a proactive, results-oriented, and customer-focused environment
  • Enjoys working with people of diverse cultural backgrounds·
  • Knows how to handle Sensitive Personal Data and abide with Data Privacy Law
  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in SAP/JDE and Payroll system is an advantage, but not required
  • With at least two-three years' work experience
  • Payroll experience not required.
