Position Details

What you will do in this role:

  • Prepares regular staffing schedules for nursing staff and posts schedule no less than two weeks prior to the start of the schedule.
  • Communicates schedule changes and other pertinent information to management and staff in a timely manner. Serves as the central contact person for the nursing department for call offs, schedule changes, PTO scheduling.
  • Ensures coverage for both planned and unplanned schedule changes. Notifies appropriate management of discrepancies in staffing in a timely manner. Monitors employee hours to minimize overtime.
  • Enters schedules/schedule changes into the payroll system. Works with payroll to manage time entry to ensure proper and timely pay. Works with management to maximize efficiencies in scheduling for the department.
  • Educates current and new staff on scheduling, communication methods and processes. For example, requesting time off, schedule changes, picking up shifts, holiday scheduling, etc.
  • Provides additional support to the hospital as directed.

  • High school degree or equivalent preferred.
  • Prior experience scheduling/staffing experience required.
  • May be required to work flexible hours and overtime
  • CPR Certification and Crisis Prevention Training (CPI) within 30 days of employment and prior to any patient contact
  • Valid driver’s license preferred
