Human Resources Generalist IIIBasic Job Functions:The Human Resources Generalist III is responsible for performing HR-related duties on a professional level and works with HR management and senior generalists in supporting designated geographic regions of the U.S. Originates and leads Human Resources practices and objectives as well as provides the day-to-day HR support on assigned departments and partner closely with manufacturing supervisors and other leaders in supporting 24/7 manufacturing operations. Leads associate relations efforts. This position is responsible for the coordination for the implementation of services, policies, procedures, and programs and carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: benefits, employee relations, training, onboarding, policy implementation, and employment law compliance.Essential Responsibilities:• Is responsible for the day-to-day management of HR operations, administration of policies, procedures, and programs of the organization.• Facilitates communication between associates and managers in several departments to provide HR guidance between Benefits, Payroll, and other HR internal departments to ensure quick, equitable, and courteous resolution. Serves as a contact and resource for employees and managers regarding HR related issues, questions, and concerns, while maintaining good working relationships and building credibility with employees.• Administers the day-to-day tasks of the HR Generalist for onboarding, off-boarding, recruitment, leave cases and employment status changes.• Partner with associates of assigned crew(s) and/or departments to provide a one stop shop in HR support and act as a backup for opposite crew(s) and/or departments.• Learn the business by attending operations meetings etc.• Keep a pulse on associate morale by actively conducting management by walking around. Communicates associates concerns appropriately.• Coach managers on associate issues and bring them to resolution.• Provides expert guidance and training to managers on the interpretation and enforcement of employment laws, HR policies and procedures.• Resolve employee relations issues or elevate them to the attention of management as necessary, ensuring documentation is complete.• Partners with business areas on compensation evaluations, promotions, and department restructuring.• Understands all federal, state, and local laws and corporate guidelines related to all employment practices.• Maintains the confidentiality of all employees, company, and customer information.• Ensures timely submission of information and paperwork to corporate HR functional areas regarding new-hires, transfers, promotions, terminations, benefits, etc.• Works with Requisitioning Managers and First Solar’s Recruiting Team to coordinate and facilitate the First Solar recruitment process.• Prepares internal employee communications regarding compensation, benefits, and company policy.• Participates on and/or lead associate committees.• Maintains accurate HR records and files.• Ability to pull reports accurately from HRIS system.• Conducts compliance requests, such as audits, by ensuring appropriate follow-up and completion of necessary documentation.• Is responsible for consistently finding ways to improve processes and systems.• Participates with planning and implementation of team and personal goals.• Compiles and analyzes data for reports, while auditing to ensure data integrity.• Actively researches HR industry trends and benchmark successful programs.• Performs basic financial and operational administrative duties, such as purchase requests and invoice management.• Assists in the development, implementation, and ongoing compliance of personnel policies and procedures.• Other duties as assigned.Education/Experience:• 5+ years of experience in Human Resources required.• Experience working in a manufacturing environment is preferred.• Proven employee relations experience required.• Knowledge of HRIS systems (Oracle) preferred.• Working knowledge of employment/labor laws and regulations required.• Bachelor’s degree in business, Human Resources, or a related field required.• PHR or SHRM-CP Certification preferred.Required Skills/Competencies:• Excellent understanding of general human resources policies and procedures.• Excellent knowledge of employment/labor laws.• Must be able to interact professionally with associates at all levels.• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.• Must be self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and in a team environment.• Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills.• Proven computer skills in Microsoft Office and human resources information systems.• Excellent time management, attention to detail, and strong organization skills.• Manage projects, ability to follow up, and meet deadlines.• Ethical Practice.• Global & Cultural Awareness.• Relationship management.• Proven use of Microsoft Office suite programs and HRIS systems.• Strong analytical skills: deadline driven, organized and able to prioritize and work on multiple tasks simultaneously.• Maintain an employee-oriented culture that emphasizes quality, continuous improvement, problem solving, and high performance.Office Physical Requirements:All positions in our office require interaction with people and technology while either standing or sitting.
