Marketing Intern – Missoula (Part-Time)

Summary: 

The Marketing Intern will support our expansion into the Missoula area by collecting and creating engaging content, assisting with local outreach, and supporting light graphic design needs. This is a part-time, hands-on role perfect for a college student or early-career creative looking to build experience in nonprofit marketing, community engagement, and content creation. This position is designed to offer professional experience while contributing meaningfully to Flathead Industries' mission and growth. 



Essential Duties and Responsibilities:  


1. Content Collection & Creation: 

  • Capture and curate photo, video, and written content at our new Missoula location for use on social media and digital platforms. Highlight staff, community members, and events in a way that  aligns with our brand voice and mission. Research social media trends and suggest new content  ideas. This will all be provided to the Assistant Manager for approvals and management of posting.  

2. Local Outreach & Community Engagement:

  •  Assist with outreach efforts in the Missoula area, including checking events we can support or attend, connecting with local partners, and distributing marketing materials in the community. 

3. Graphic Design Support: 

  • Support the development of branded materials such as email signatures, business cards, flyers, and event signage using tools like Canva or Adobe Creative Suite. 

4. Event Marketing Assistance: 

  • Help promote and staff community events and brand activations. Assist with event preparation and content capture during events. 

5. Collaboration: 

  • Work closely with the Assistant Manager to align on priorities, share updates, and contribute ideas for local engagement strategies. 

6. Brand Representation: 

  • Ensure all materials and communications reflect Flathead Industries’ mission, values, and visual identity. 

Requirements

Required Minimum Qualifications: 

1. Currently enrolled in or recently completed a college program in Marketing, Communications, Design, or related field. 

2. Familiarity with social media platforms including Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok. 

3. Basic experience with design tools such as Canva, Adobe Illustrator, or Photoshop. 

4. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. 

5. Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks or projects. 

6. Interest in community-focused and inclusive marketing. 


Preferred Qualifications: 

1. Experience with photography, video editing, or creating social media content. 

2. Knowledge of the Missoula area and connections to local organizations or student groups. 

3. Passion for nonprofit work or community outreach.
