Reports to: Manager, Recruiting & Admissions

Location: New York, NY - Hybrid, 1-3 days a week in office (varies seasonally)

GWI supports first- and second-year college students through tuition-free education programs, while also providing career advisory services, community-building initiatives, and lifelong alumni support. ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

The Admissions Analyst will report to the Manager of Recruiting and Admissions and will support our data-driven recruiting, outreach, and selection efforts as a member of the Recruiting and Admissions team at Girls Who Invest. This role is responsible for supporting core selection initiatives across all Girls Who Invest programs including participating in recruitment initiatives, reviewing program applications, and providing recommendations for selection decisions. Additionally, this role will provide logistical, administrative, and technical support for the Recruiting and Admissions team in executing communications, virtual and in-person events, and general operations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Program Participant Selection:

Serve as a member of the admissions committee responsible for selecting cohorts for GWI’s programs

  • Review and provide recommendations for applications during the application reading season for GWI’s flagship programs in the admissions cycle. The estimated number of applications is cycle-dependent and subject to change from year to year.
  • Participate in selection committees and other admissions activities as needed throughout the cycle.
  • Support management of seasonal readers, and document processing prior to, during, and after admissions cycles.
  • Support annual review and refinement of application based on data analysis, feedback, and evolution of program offerings.

Recruiting: 

Support the execution of a year-round comprehensive strategic plan for outreach and recruitment for GWI Program

  • Lead virtual and in-person information sessions, alumni panels, and other related recruitment programming.
  • Utilize external job platforms for recruitment-related administrative tasks including event creation, event promotion, in-person event registration, and team operations (e.g. Handshake, Symplicity, etc.)
  • Coordinate logistics of recruitment-related alumni initiatives.
  • Support partnership management with colleges/universities, community-based organizations, and other organizations within prospective applicant communities.
  • Support prospect and applicant communications campaigns, promotional material development, digital outreach, and social media efforts.
  • Track and evaluate effectiveness of recruitment strategies by analyzing data and generating insights from campaigns.

Team Operational Support:

  • Manage the day-to-day application inbox including responding to prospective applicant questions in a timely manner and processing application documents.
  • Support GWI’s database hygiene efforts to produce more effective targeted outreach and maintain up-to-date data.
  • Collaborate across Girls Who Invest teams on various projects that advance GWI’s mission.
  • Other duties as assigned.

ABOUT THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE

Professional Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • Two (2) – four (4) years of recent highly selective admissions experience.
  • Strong comprehensive evaluation and assessment techniques including experience with holistic admissions review and a proven track record of reviewing large volume of applications.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral; strong public speaking skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a customer service orientation and able to build relationships and collaborate across the organization.
  • Excellent project management skills and demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage multiple evolving projects with competing deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills .
  • Proficiency in Google Suite, Microsoft Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Basic knowledge of Slate CRM (or similar) platform, including but not limited to, Reader navigation, form/event registration creation, record management, query/reporting, etc.
  • Valid U.S. Driver’s License.

  • Enthusiasm for and interest in selective admissions, recruiting, and access-focused initiatives (related experience is a plus.)
  • A strategic thinker, independent self-starter and problem solver.
  • Ability to work both independently and without close oversight, but also function as a team player who will take initiative and manage multiple tasks and projects concurrently within a defined timeline and adhere to project deadlines.
  • Demonstrated interest in early career talent development.
  • Familiarity with recruiting technology and trends (e.g., LinkedIn and Handshake.)
  • Ability to design visual materials creatively, i.e. promotional materials, data visualizations, etc. (Proficiency in Canva, Looker Studio, Tableau, and/or similar.)

COMPENSATION: Current compensation range expected: $70,000 - $80,000 per year. The starting pay will depend on a variety of factors that may include but are not limited to experience, education, training, and certification. GWI offers a strong and competitive benefits package.

LOCATION AND TRAVEL: This role is hybrid based in New York City with seasonal recruitment-related travel. Must be available to work occasional evenings and weekends during peak periods.
