People Operations Generalist (Remote)

MeBe Family is a provider of evidence-based therapies for children with autism and other special needs. Our mission is to empower families, professionals, and communities by educating and training them on evidence-based approaches. Our secret sauce? Play-filled, research-based care across multi-disciplines including Speech, OT and ABA.

The People Operations Generalist will focus on Benefits in addition to supporting assigned business units. The role will report to the interim Chief People Officer and work with a small team to support a diverse team of non-exempt and exempt team members based in CA as well as WA, TX, AZ and VA. Remote and California benefits, Wage & hour and LOA experience is essential.

About What You’ll Do

  • Administer and process benefits, disability, wage & hour, and leave-of-absence updates, complying with Federal, State, Local and MeBe specific policies.

  • Be a super user of Paylocity to update and ensure feeds are firing properly, partnering with Payroll to trouble shoot, anaylze and fix issues.

  • Regularly perform scheduled quality checks in Paylocity; benefits eligibility, performance reviews, compensation increases, promotions, LOA, employee classifications

  • Assist Payroll with compensation adjustments, PTO, sick time so the data has been captured and is reflecting correctly.

  • Assist team members’ with 401 (k) questions regarding contribution amounts, plan changes, enrollments, and yearly catch-up contribution enrollment.

  • Pull reports and submit annual 401k, ACA, EEO-1 and other compliance reporting.

  • Assist with benefits renewal evaluations and open enrollment.

  • Respond to team members’ healthcare benefits questions regarding eligibility, benefits enrollment, contribution amounts, plan provisions, submitting claims, plan changes, and qualifying life events.

  • Complete incoming and outgoing administrative duties; workers compensation, garnished pay, OSHA, EEO-1, SUI etc.

  • Audit and submit OSHA 300 filing on a yearly basis. 

  • Analyze HR metrics and develop HR reports, programs, and policies based on data output.

  • Implement HR solutions, programs, policies, and programs to drive continuous improvement.

  • Act as a change agent and single point of contact for employees and managers in the business unit.

  • Build a strong business relationship with team members of assigned business units.

  • Resolve employee issues and grievances, conducting unbiased investigations as needed leveraging deep understanding of Employment Laws and how they work.

Requirements

  • Must be PHR certified.

  • 5+ years of HR industry experience, preferably with a growing organization of no less than 500 employees in a mixed Remote and multi-state setting.

  • Deep knowledge of Paylocity and use of reporting.

  • Experience managing ALE employee reporting.

  • Deep understanding of medical, dental, vision, health savings accounts, voluntary coverages, and COBRA.

  • Deep understanding of all state and federal regulations pertaining to wage & hour, insurance and employee benefits.

  • Experience admininstrating 401k changes and filings.

  • Remote and California experience benefits experience is essential.

  • Must be based in California and willing to work 9-5pm PST.
