Talent Programs & Early Career Recruiter

Patreon is a media and community platform where over 300,000 creators give their biggest fans access to exclusive work and experiences. We offer creators a variety of ways to engage with their communities and build a lasting business including: paid memberships, free memberships, community chats, live experiences, and selling to fans directly with one-time purchases.

Ultimately our goal is to fund the creative class. We have: $8 billion+ in revenue generated since Patreon's inception 60 million+ free new memberships for fans who may not be ready to pay yet, and 10 million+ fans paying each month for exclusive access to creators' work and community. We're investing in building the best creator platform and are looking for an Early Careers Recruiter to support our mission.

This role is based in San Francisco and requires in-office presence on Mondays and Wednesdays as part of a hybrid work model. The schedule is subject to change based on business needs.

About the Team:

The Talent Acquisition team supports hiring across Patreon. We collaborate with business leaders to attract, engage, and hire top talent while ensuring an excellent candidate experience. Our team is committed to building a diverse and inclusive workforce that aligns with Patreon's mission and values.

About the Role:

This recruiter will develop and manage Patreon's internship and early career, and talent brand strategy, ensuring an effective process for candidates and hiring teams. They will also partner with Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) and universities to build a diverse pipeline of talent. As a talent brand strategist, this role will lead initiatives such as conferences, career fairs, university visits, to strengthen our brand and attract top talent. Additionally, this role will support non-technical hiring across various functions.

Responsibilities:

  • Early Career Strategy & Program Management:

    • Develop and manage Patreon's early career hiring strategy.

    • Partner with hiring managers to define intern and entry-level hiring needs.

    • Coordinate program logistics, including onboarding, mentorship, performance evaluations, and program wrap-ups.

    • Build relationships with universities, student organizations, bootcamps, and external partners to maintain a talent pipeline.

    • Collaborate with ERGs to support diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts in early career hiring.

  • Sourcing & Recruiting:

    • Manage full-cycle recruitment of non-technical roles and early career roles, from sourcing to offer negotiation.

    • Build and execute sourcing strategies to attract early career candidates through LinkedIn, campus events, and referrals.

    • Operate within and iterate on inclusive hiring practices to bring the best talent to Patreon, ensuring a pipeline representative of candidates from all types of backgrounds.

    • Utilize Ashby, our Applicant Tracking System (ATS), to manage candidate pipelines and track metrics.

  • Talent Branding:

    • Develop and execute strategies to promote Patreon’s employer brand.

    • Partner with the marketing and branding team to create content for social media, career pages, and industry engagement.

    • Setup program to attend and represent Patreon at conferences such as Grace Hopper, Women in Product, Afrotech, etc.

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of recruiting experience, including early careers or university hiring.

  • Experience managing internship and early career programs.

  • Full-cycle recruiting experience from sourcing to closing candidates.

  • Understanding of DEI hiring practices.

  • Ability to collaborate with internal teams and external partners.

  • Experience using ATS platforms (Ashby preferred) to track hiring metrics.

  • Strong communication and organizational skills.

This Role Might Not be a Fit If:

  • You prefer a fully defined plan before getting started. We’re looking for someone who can build and execute a full-year recruiting plan with minimal guidance.

  • You find ambiguity challenging. As a growing company, change is a constant, and adaptability is key to success in this role.

  • You prefer to work independently rather than collaboratively. While you’ll own and drive the program, cross-functional partnership is essential for its success.

  • You prefer a fully remote role with no travel. This role involves building university relationships, which will require spending time on various campuses and attending conferences.

  • You’re looking to specialize in only one area. This role will flex across multiple areas of expertise, so if you prefer to solely focus on early career recruiting, this might not be the best fit.
