SUMMARY

Pressed Roots is the first silk blow-out bar specializing in textured hair. Combining certified textured hair expertise, nurturing care for hair health and true luxury hospitality touches, we aim to break down the barriers that have held women of color back from feeling their best. In our hands, a simple blow-out becomes an affordable mini-luxury that not only makes our clients feel uniquely beautiful, but will forever change the standards of the beauty industry.

DESCRIPTION

As we grow, we are seeking a Director of Operations to oversee and optimize studio operations, drive financial success, and develop high-performing teams across multiple locations.

The Director of Operations will be responsible for leading District and Studio Managers, ensuring studio excellence, and driving business performance. This role requires a hands-on leader who can implement strong operational structures, hold managers accountable to financial and performance metrics, and spend a significant portion of time in the field. This individual must have experience managing P&L, scaling multi-location service-based businesses, and developing high-performing teams in a fast-paced environment.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Studio Operations & Leadership – Oversee daily operations across multiple locations, ensuring excellence in execution and a seamless, luxury client experience.
  • Team Development & Accountability – Lead and coach District and Studio Managers, driving performance, compliance, and team development.
  • P&L Management & Financial Growth – Own financial performance, optimize revenue strategies, control costs, and track key metrics.
  • Client Experience & Brand Standards – Maintain high service standards, monitor customer satisfaction, and implement improvements.
  • Operational Efficiency & Process Improvement – Standardize workflows, optimize scheduling, and ensure facility upkeep for a smooth operation.
  • Field Presence & Hands-On Leadership – Spend at least half the week in studios, providing direct leadership and support.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration and/or 5-10 years of experience in operations management, preferably in the retail or salon industry with a top tier firm
  • Early stage or small company experience, familiar with limited resources, more “do” than “delegate”
  • 5+ years of multi-location operations management experience in beauty, hospitality, retail, or a service-based industry.
  • Proven experience owning and managing a full P&L, including driving revenue growth and controlling costs.
  • Strong leadership experience, including managing managers, developing teams, and holding employees accountable.
  • Must be comfortable traveling regularly between Pressed Roots locations (Dallas, Plano, Arlington, Houston).
  • Exceptional communication, problem-solving, and team-building skills.
