  • Be responsible for leading the implementation of Health, Safety & Environmental initiatives across Qantas Airports, both domestic and international

As the Manager People Safety – Airports, you will play a key role in providing strategic leadership and driving the implementation of Health, Safety & Environmental initiatives across Qantas Airports and Qantas Mainline Lounges. Your focus will include the development and execution of programs centred on critical risk management, psychosocial safety, musculoskeletal disorder risk, and general health and well-being. Collaborating with a diverse range of stakeholders, including our ground service providers responsible for a significant part of airport operations, you will ensure regulatory compliance and promote a proactive safety culture. Reporting into the Head of People Safety, this is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the safety culture within Qantas; driving innovation and improvement in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

 

What you’ll bring to the role:

  • 5+ years’ experience in a WHS professional role, specifically leading the development and implementation of People safety systems, programs, and projects with a demonstrable record of delivering improvement
  • Bachelor of Occupational Health and Safey or a related discipline
  • Allied Health professional degree in Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, or Exercise Physiology is desired
  • Understanding of relevant WHS Regulations
  • Experience in working within a business partnering or similar service model, including the ability to build constructive, effective and influential working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Good organisational skills, with ability to work on multiple tasks concurrently, under pressure and to meet deadlines
  • The ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbal, with all levels of management and external stakeholders.
