About the Role:
The VP Product Management will be responsible for overall product portfolio strategy and execution, be responsible for embedding product management excellence in their organization and be a role model for developing strong relationships with key partners including technology and market, serve as a thought leader for the company and have the ability to sway decisions of senior executives. This individual will also have direct management responsibility for product managers and managers of product managers.
Responsibilities:
Establishes long term, robust customer relationships and engagement plans with customers, to ensure all team leaders and product managers have customer communication processes in place
Is heavily involved in the industry and is aware of, and remains knowledgeable, on information pertaining to market, competitive products, industry data, as well as cutting edge technology for best product use
Adapts the product strategy as needed based on market changes
Makes significant contributions to decisions around release schedules, release approvals, customer impact, and data-driven processes for the Government Market
Ensures alignment with all groups around the key KPIs to be achieved with products and internal processes
Works collaboratively with all necessary stakeholders to develop a clear and compelling go-to-market strategy, messaging, positioning and themes for a sizeable product suite
Defines, leads and adapts a go-to-market vision for the product portfolio to meet or exceed revenue goals in alignment with the market strategy to succeed in current and future market conditions
Ensures coordinated execution and communication of the product strategy and deliverables across relevant stakeholder groups
Is the critical driver or owner of the production lifecycle, strategy and business cases
Oversees innovation that represent significant contributions to the product suite
Works with team and other groups to improve broader product communication and education processes for the company
Demonstrates a deep understanding of the political, economic and environmental context in which the market operates and links this to the portfolio strategy

Expert in product development and current methodologies such as Agile methodologies in the build processes recognized company-wide
Is very familiar with leading processes outside of the company and can internalize knowledge from external communities for the organization
Able to create and orchestrate a product portfolio (platform/ecosystem) and effectively communicate same
Strategy & Commercial Acumen
Is adept at identifying longer-term trends by leveraging data, typically operating on a 12-24-month planning horizon
Is skilled at devising penetration and protection strategies to maintain a strong competitive position into the future
Able to demonstrate excellence at driving portfolio plans to take advantage of potential commercial opportunities
Is an expert at evangelizing and providing clarity of product strategy, vision and culture to the organization
Is proficient at drafting business and product terms included in contracts and support agreements
Is an expert in the assistance of, or modification, of business or pricing models across the portfolio with clear communication relative to direct/indirect product costs to build
Able to identify new products that generate a significant revenue stream for the company
Technical Skills
Able to apply expertise in the product domain in serving as a technical resource for other groups
Is knowledgeable about new emerging technologies and those of our competitors, including artificial Intelligence and its best practices including implementation and uses both internal and external
Able to understand technology trade-offs made in the product, at a high level
Is knowledgeable of the relationship between the company platform and technology
Defines and leads a product portfolio vision, clearly articulating the goals across all relevant stakeholder groups, including Technology, Data, and Networking teams

Requirements:
Preferred Academic Background*: bachelor’s or master’s degree
Relevant Experience: 15+ years in Product Management
