Responsible for working on Household hazardous waste collection events or events similar in nature. Responsible for maintaining a professional image while adhering to all VESTS Health and Safety policies and procedures.

Based in East Chicago, IN, this position is all about facilitating Household Hazardous Waste collection events, helping ensure that waste is handled safely and responsibly. Your key responsibilities will include unloading materials from various vehicles and recognizing any potentially harmful situations related to chemical handling. As an HHW Technician, you’ll enjoy the opportunity to work with different materials, learning to segregate chemicals into appropriate packaging categories or DOT hazard classes. We believe in maintaining a professional company image, and you will play a vital role in representing Veolia as you interact with customers, always adhering to our Health and Safety policies and procedures. To succeed in this role, you'll need a high school diploma and prior experience in hazardous waste handling is a plus. Strong teamwork and the ability to follow directions in a dynamic work environment are essential. You’ll also be required to possess a valid driver’s license and preferably have a 40-hour HAZWOPER Certification.
