About the Role:

As a Product Manager at Odyssey, you will be a cornerstone of the engineering team, seamlessly linking tech with operations and customer success. In this vital role, you will help to develop and scope the technology that powers our educational programs, crafting both the face and functionality of our platform. You will be integral in assisting the end-to-end software development process, from ideation through deployment. Importantly, we need someone who can understand the fundamentals of our business and translate that into stellar engineering design.

What You’ll Do:

The PM role plays a critical role in delivering sophisticated financial and ecommerce services to our users, including designing and building complex money movement funds flows that enable our users to access a high-quality education for their children. This is a highly complex and challenging role that will require you to deeply understand user needs and collaborate across internal and partner teams to build and launch a seamless product experience at scale. We need a strong Product Manager with expertise in platform products and financial systems to realize this aspiration. This Product Manager will spend significant time with external stakeholders to discuss strategy and roadmap, with parents to understand their current pain points and needs, and internal stakeholders to build highly-efficient flows and features.

  • Help shape the direction, define product strategy, and establish practices to address user needs.

  • Collaboratively partner with all Odyssey teams (engineering, finance, operations, customer support, and more) early in the product development lifecycle and jointly shape product plans that lead with delightful onboarding and integration experiences.

  • Assist in translating product vision into detailed requirements and prototypes.

  • Support engineering, design, and QA teams to ensure timely and high-quality product delivery.

  • Help prioritize features, enhancements, and bug fixes based on business and customer impact.

  • Own key user journeys of card program funding, from integration to core business operation.

  • Act as the voice of the user in product and API designs, gathering direct feedback from State partners.

  • Collaborate with tech leadership on the evolving product roadmap.

  • Ensure we’re building in a scalable, performant way.

About You:

  • A hustler, builder, and cross-functional collaborator that embraces ambiguity and the tremendous opportunity with Odyssey .

  • Brings 3+ years of experience in a product role.

  • Has domain knowledge in financial products and/or ecommerce solutions. 

  • Strong focus on user-experiences, from front-end UI through developer docs and technical integrations.

  • Has experience building platform and/or API products.

  • Has strong written and verbal communication skills with a talent for precise articulations of customer problems.

  • Can put themselves in the shoes of their users and be a steward of crafting great experiences.

  • A team player with a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and a commitment to continuous improvement.

Additional Details:

  • This role is onsite in NYC, out of our Tribeca office.

  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

  • We believe that everyone at Odyssey should be compensated fairly. We set our salary bands based on compensation data from hundreds of companies at our stage. The salary range for this role is $150,000 - $180,000 depending on experience, interview performance and location.
