The opportunity

The purpose of this role is to support the implementation and administration of assigned People Function’s policies, programs, and practices to meet organizational requirements. This involves providing expertise on People policies, processes, and procedures, ensuring data accuracy and integrity, and supporting project initiatives through resource coordination, metric reporting, onboarding assistance, and cross-training participation for successful project implementation.

        Location: Chicago, IL or Sun Prairie, WI

        Work Arrangement: This role is hybrid, where you will be expected to be in the office 2-3 days per week  

        The starting salary for this role is between $23.75 and $39.00

Primary Responsibilities

  • Administer the severance process, including electronic agreements, notification letters and termination tasks.
  • Support employees and other departments by answering policy and general questions while coordinating escalations to other departments.
  • Provide support with unemployment claims administration including answering data requests and uploading new notices.
  • Collect necessary employee data for subpoenas and legal requests while coordinating with Legal Department.
  • Coordinate invoice payments for People Operations and create purchase orders.
  • Provide employment and Medicare verifications.
  • Support the onboarding of new employees in tasks that can include: background screening support, executive onboarding, and I-9 documentation review.
  • Manage multiple email boxes and Service Now tickets simultaneously, pulling required data from current and legacy system.
  • Support People Administration activities, including project management for tasks such as the annual Employee Handbook update, Business Continuity Planning coordination, Record Retention policy coordination, and required People function documentation at QBE sites.
  • Compile and send data to Department of Labor on a monthly and quarterly basis for reporting of employment statistics.  Provide other EEO reporting as required.
  • Maintain employee Workday files and Sharepoint document organization and retention.
  • Serve as a key resource to internal stakeholders and collaborate with subject-matter experts to resolve employees’ Service Now tickets efficiently.
  • Contribute to the execution of operational objectives for the People function and maintain awareness of the business strategy.
  • Suggest and implement process improvements in job responsibilities to better utilize resources with our off-shore support partners.

Compensation Package: The salary range for this role is provided above. This is the national range for location(s) listed. The salary offer will be decided based on the role's complexity, its location, and the candidate’s professional background, including their education and experience. Beyond the base salary, regular full-time and part-time employees will also be eligible for QBE’s annual discretionary bonus plan based on business and individual performance. We encourage all candidates to apply, even if their salary expectations fall outside of this range, as we are committed to finding the right fit for our team.
