We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Human Resources Director to lead and oversee global HR operations. This role will focus on ensuring the seamless implementation and management of HR operational processes, including global resource management, total compensation strategies, career development programs, regional benefits administration, and organizational change initiatives. The HR Director will play a critical role in aligning HR strategies with business objectives to drive organizational success. You will manage, coach and mentor a global HR team (US, Canada and Australia).

What you will do:

Global HR Operations Management

  • Develop and implement a global HR operations framework to support the organization’s resourcing needs.
  • Establish and optimize a global resourcing model, ensuring alignment with business goals and workforce planning strategies.
  • Oversee HR processes and systems to ensure compliance with local, regional, and global regulations.

Total Compensation Strategy

  • Design and manage comprehensive total compensation programs, including salary structures, bonuses, and Long-Term Incentive Plans (LTIP).
  • Ensure compensation practices are competitive and equitable across global markets.
  • Collaborate with leadership to develop and maintain transparent communication on compensation strategies and policies.

Career Development and Talent Management

  • Lead the design and execution of career development initiatives that foster employee growth and align with organizational goals.
  • Develop robust succession planning and talent management strategies to identify and nurture future leaders.
  • Partner with managers to implement personalized development plans and performance management processes.

Benefits Administration and Regional Adaptation

  • Oversee the development and management of employee benefits programs, ensuring they meet regional and cultural needs.
  • Evaluate and address regional differences in benefits offerings to maintain market competitiveness and employee satisfaction.
  • Ensure compliance with local benefits regulations and manage vendor relationships effectively.

Organizational Change Management

  • Lead change management initiatives to support business transformations and cultural evolution.
  • Design and deliver communication plans and training programs to ensure smooth transitions during organizational changes.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on the human capital implications of strategic initiatives.

Employee Experience And Engagement

  • Reinforce the company’s culture, values, and norms.
  • Create programs that enhance employee experience, satisfaction, and productivity.
  • Foster a sense of inclusion and community within the organization. Promote diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives in line with the reality of each market.
  • Orchestrate the employee engagement survey process across markets, align engagement plans globally.
  • Ensure onboarding programs are robust globally.

Performance Culture

  • Design the processes for goal setting and performance management that will enable a global culture of high achievement; open feedback and development focus.
  • Ensure reward processes are in place to ensure competitiveness, fairness and recognition of high performance.

Talent Acquisition

  • Partner with talent acquisition team to formulate recruitment strategies to deliver on business and culture goals.
  • Oversee recruitment activities globally. 
  • Work with the senior leadership team and advise on workforce planning and succession planning.

Learning & Development

  • Design and deliver the learning tools needed to support Semios’ agile culture and ways of working.
  • Design a learning agenda and deliver training programs across functions.
  • Partner with senior leaders to identify leadership development needs 
  • Partner with HR teams in different business units to identify key needs and priorities; and ensure smooth roll out of the prioritized learning initiatives.
  • Mentor and coach managers in North America to build effective leadership skills.

Budget Management and HR Analytics

  • Have oversight on all people-related costs including bonuses and other incentives.
  • Build and oversee HR’s functional budget and learning & development budget.

Risk & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with HR laws and regulations highlighting and elevating key risks to the business and opportunities for improvement as well as deliver on education and compliance in relation to  Business Integrity initiatives.

We want you to succeed so you will need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred
  • 10+ years of progressive HR leadership experience, with a focus on HR operations, global workforce management, and strategic HR practices. Previous global experience in a technology company is a must. 
  • Strong expertise in total compensation, including bonus structures and LTIP, with the ability to design and implement competitive programs
  • Proven experience in career development, talent management, and succession planning
  • Demonstrated knowledge of regional differences in benefits and labor regulations across global markets
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and organizational change management skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multicultural, and dynamic environment
  • Proficiency in HR systems and tools, with experience implementing global HR technologies

Nice to have:

  • CPHR (Certified Professional in Human Resources) or other professional HR designation
  • Experience with HRIS systems implementation/integration 

Salary range: $132,000 to $170,000 CAD per year

Please note that the base pay offered may vary based on factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills and experience, geographic location, as well as business and organizational needs.
